Ca Mau Crab: Forest scent, sea taste and desire to reach far

(Chinhphu.vn) - From November 16-22, Ca Mau province will organize the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival with the theme "Ca Mau Crab: Forest scent - sea taste". This is not only a festival to honor the famous specialty of the southernmost region of the country, but also an opportunity to promote the image, investment potential, tourism and creative startups of the land where "the land can speak, the forest can sing, the sea can tell stories".

On the afternoon of November 5, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province held a press conference to announce a series of events surrounding the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival in 2025 .

According to the Organizing Committee, the festival will open at 8:00 p.m. on November 16 and last until November 22, 2025 at Phan Ngoc Hien Square , An Xuyen Ward. The opening program is accompanied by an art performance with the theme "Ca Mau Crab: Forest scent - sea taste".

The festival space stretches across An Xuyen, Tan Thanh, Ly Van Lam, Hiep Thanh wards ... with a series of unique activities. The highlight is the crab industry trade exhibition , start-up products and OCOP (one product per commune) with a scale of 312 booths gathering businesses inside and outside the province. The booths introduce and promote typical products, connect businesses, promote cooperation, purchase and sale, and investment in the seafood sector, especially the Ca Mau crab industry .

Every evening, in the square area, visitors can enjoy 20 food stalls with dishes made from Ca Mau crabs and many typical souvenir products . The event also includes a contest to set the record for "Largest Ca Mau Crab" , taking place in October and November 2025. Farmers in the province are invited to participate, and the record-breaking products will be honored at the closing ceremony on the evening of November 18, 2025 .

Connecting startups, spreading innovation

Within the framework of the festival, Ca Mau province also organized a series of events CamaUP'25 - Ca Mau Startup Festival 2025 , taking place from November 16-17 at the Provincial Convention Center ( No. 1 Le Duan, An Xuyen Ward). The highlight is the final round of the contest "Green seafood - sustainable development trend 2025" , along with forums connecting startups, displaying innovative products .

The event gathered representatives of research institutes, universities, international organizations, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Provincial Youth Union, the Farmers' Association, the Women's Union of Ca Mau province , along with startup experts and young businesses . The goal is to create a bridge between creative ideas and investors , promote the spirit of "starting a business from a crab" , contributing to the formation of a sustainable marine economic value chain.

In parallel, Ca Mau province will organize an international workshop on "Innovation for sustainable development of the Ca Mau - Vietnam crab industry" , with the participation of 120 domestic and foreign delegates . The workshop will take place at 8:00 a.m. on November 18, 2025 at the conference hall of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee ( No. 2 Hung Vuong, Tan Thanh Ward). Here, experts will exchange and share international experiences in farming, processing, high-tech application and green transformation in the crab industry .

Spreading river culture - connecting tourism in Ca Mau

Not only a commercial festival, Ca Mau Crab Festival is also a unique cultural and tourism harmony of the land at the end of the South . Within the framework of the program, the province will organize the first expanded Ca Mau Southern Amateur Music Festival in 2025 , taking place from November 13-15, 2025 at the Southern Amateur Music Art Memorial Site and musician Cao Van Lau ( Bac Lieu ward). The festival brings together Amateur Music Clubs across the Mekong Delta, performing to serve tourists, contributing to honoring the unique intangible cultural values ​​of the West.

In particular, the Organizing Committee also evokes the atmosphere of a folk village festival with fun games, such as catching crabs quickly, tying crabs quickly, racing crabs ... taking place every night from November 17-21, 2025 at Phan Ngoc Hien Square . In addition, the province will organize experiential tours , visit commercial crab and molting crab farming models that meet international and organic standards , survey coastal craft villages , and specialized farming areas to serve guests, businesses and investors.

Affirming the brand, calling for sustainable investment

According to Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province , Ca Mau Crab Festival is not only a cultural - tourism event but also has economic - foreign affairs significance.

"This is an opportunity for Ca Mau to promote its potential and strengths in economy, culture, tourism, and environment, and at the same time call on domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to invest and cooperate for sustainable development," Mr. Thang emphasized.
