The National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC), Department of Information Security ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) recorded that in June 2023, the information systems and computers of state agencies and organizations had nearly 50,000 security vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
According to statistics, the number of vulnerabilities and weaknesses recorded by the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC) and the Department of Information Security in the information systems of state agencies and organizations in June 2023 decreased by about 14% compared to May 2023. However, this number is 25.8 times higher than the same period last year.
From the perspective of the State management agency on network information security, the number of 49,994 weaknesses and vulnerabilities existing in the systems of State agencies and organizations is very large. The Department of Information Security said that the unit has directed the NCSC to conduct assessments, identify dangerous vulnerabilities with widespread impacts and guide ministries and branches to overcome them. In particular, there are a number of vulnerabilities that have been and are being exploited by attack groups to carry out targeted APT attacks.

Also in the technical report on the information security situation in June 2023, the Department of Information Security said that last month, the NCSC's technical system recorded 410,828 Vietnamese IP addresses in the botnet network, down 19% compared to May 2023. Of which, there were 148 IP addresses of state agencies and organizations, with 14 IP addresses of ministries and branches and 134 IP addresses of provinces and cities.
In addition to the recorded weaknesses and vulnerabilities, NCSC's technical system also analyzed and detected many government agency computers connected to IP addresses/Domains suspected of being malicious as recorded by anti-malware software.
By the end of June 2023, the total number of information systems of State agencies approved for safety levels was 1,949 out of a total of 3,094 systems, reaching a rate of 62.9%. The total number of information systems of State agencies meeting the requirements for safety assurance by level was 285/3,094, reaching a rate of 9.2%.
Currently, 88 units, including 63 provinces and cities and 25 ministries and branches, have deployed centralized malware prevention solutions and connected to share malware information with NCSC. The number of ministries, branches and localities that have deployed information security monitoring and connected to share monitoring data with NCSC is 87, including 63 provinces and cities and 24 ministries and branches.
