Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thanh, Commander of the 1st Regional Disaster Response Team - Huong Tra, and his colleagues, after a day and night of struggling with the rain and floods to rescue people and search for missing people, said: "The unit's members have just found the body of a missing flood victim last night, at 10:45 p.m. That is Tran Hoang Van Minh, born in 2007, who was swept away by the flood at 4:00 p.m. on October 29, at km 808+400 on National Highway 1A in Huong Tra ward. Due to the low-lying area, near the fast-flowing Bo River, dozens of officers and soldiers of the unit and coordinating forces, along with many types of vehicles, had to spend nearly 3 days and nights working hard to find the victim."

In addition to focusing on searching for missing people, in recent days, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control No. 1 - Huong Tra has mobilized all forces and means to the area of ​​17 wards and 3 communes under the unit's responsibility, both directly helping people and coordinating with local authorities and directing the Military Commands of wards and communes to help people prevent floods. At Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, in Phong Thai ward, in recent days, the number of patients being treated is large, many patients have been stranded in the flood and cannot be taken care of in time, so they lack food and drinking water, greatly affecting their health and treatment regimen.

Upon receiving the news, the unit organized a supply unit directly commanded by Major Nguyen Tho, Deputy Political Commissar of the unit, immediately moved more than 10 km across the raging floodwaters, disregarding all dangers, and arrived at the Hospital that night with more than 150 gifts including rice, cakes, mineral water and other necessities for the sick in time to support the people.
