(LĐ online) - To ensure the reputation and quality of the Da Huoai durian brand, Da Huoai district has issued a document encouraging and propagating people and traders to strictly follow the regulations when harvesting durian.

To ensure the reputation and quality of durian for export, people need to harvest durian at the right age and ripeness according to regulations.
To ensure the reputation and quality of durian for export, people need to harvest durian at the right age and ripeness according to regulations.

This year, the durian crop in Da Huoai district has been bountiful, with good prices and has been officially exported to the Chinese market, which is a good sign for the local people as well as the local agricultural sector. Currently, the demand for durian from China is increasing, so a few traders and people in the district have harvested durian before the harvest season, reducing the quality and reputation of Da Huoai durian products in the market.

Durian that has not yet reached harvest time has a high weight, but the product quality is not guaranteed, and banned chemicals not permitted by state agencies must be used after harvest to ripen quickly and beautify the durian skin. This seriously affects the quality of Da Huoai durian and the health of consumers. If this situation continues, the risk of losing the export market is very high.

The People's Committee of Da Huoai district and relevant agencies request farmers, traders and durian packaging and export facilities in the district to harvest durian at the right age for processing, ripe enough, and ensure product quality. These are regulations that must be strictly followed to maintain the reputation and quality of Da Huoai durian products after harvest for export.

At the same time, farmers need to comply with regulations on the quality of exported durian, in order to enhance the reputation of the Da Huoai durian brand in the international market. Thereby, creating favorable conditions for market expansion as well as negotiating and re-signing the Protocol in the next times, creating a stable market for Da Huoai durian products to develop effectively, sustainably and long-term.

Da Huoai district currently has 5,980 hectares of durian, of which the harvested area is 3,501 hectares. The estimated yield is 115.8 quintals/ha, the estimated output is 40,000 tons. Currently, the garden purchase price for Ri6 durian is on average 45-50 thousand VND/kg; Dona durian is on average 65-70 thousand VND/kg.

Currently, the district has only approved 7 growing area codes with an area of 325 hectares (45 area codes are still waiting for approval, with more than 2,000 hectares).
