On the morning of December 2, at the Ho Chi Minh City College of Architecture and Construction, the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the "1st Ho Chi Minh City Self-made Training Equipment Contest" in 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Chien (in black shirt) introduces the model "Diagnosing errors on real vehicles" researched by lecturers of Dai Viet Saigon College.

The simulation model of common errors in practice helps students see and directly recognize the reaction errors on the vehicle, thereby overcoming the confusion when dealing with large assets of customers.
Ms. Truong Hai Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said that the contest is a professional activity with practical significance, held periodically every 3 years.
This year's contest was held for the first time after the merger of 3 localities, gathering the participation of 28 vocational education institutions (VET), 225 teachers as authors, and author groups of 64 competing devices.
"Compared to 2022, this year's competition has increased by 22 devices, 86 teachers and 11 vocational training facilities. This shows that Ho Chi Minh City's vocational training after the merger has great capacity and potential for development," Ms. Thanh affirmed.

Ms. Truong Hai Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, listened to an introduction to the model "Monitoring and operating pharmaceutical production lines using artificial intelligence" of Dong An High Technology College.
Mr. Phan Tien Vuong, representative of the author group of Ho Chi Minh City College of Transport, introduced the "Automatic Transmission" model. With a manufacturing cost of only about 35 million VND (significant savings compared to the actual car), this model is compactly designed to be placed right in the classroom, helping to overcome limitations in space and budget.
"The model not only serves to teach mechanics but also fully integrates the control panel, oil pressure testing, high technology applications and digital transformation in automotive engineering training, meeting the pedagogical and aesthetic criteria of the competition" - Mr. Vuong said.
This year, Ly Tu Trong College, Ho Chi Minh City, participated with 7 training models. Among them, the model "Multi-function refrigeration system with monitoring, control and automation according to 4.0 technology" made an impression when pioneering the application of modern technology in teaching.
Representative of the research team, Dr. Hoang Van Viet, Head of the Department of Training Management and International Cooperation - Ly Tu Trong College, said that it took the team more than 11 months to complete and test this model.

Dr. Hoang Van Viet checks the model before the competition begins on the afternoon of December 2.

Participating in the contest for the first time, Mr. Phan Tien Vuong, representative of the author group of Ho Chi Minh City College of Transport, introduced the economical "Automatic Transmission" model.

The contest is a professional activity of practical significance to honor and reward authors and groups of authors who have made outstanding achievements in scientific research, actively innovated and turned ideas into reality.

Self-research, design, manufacture and application of training equipment contribute significantly to improving the quality of teaching and learning, reducing investment costs, and promoting digital transformation in vocational education.
The competition is an opportunity for the school to exchange and learn more experiences from other units. From there, improve training equipment to suit production lines and actual requirements of businesses. "Making modern models yourself is also a way to save long-term costs in the training process" - Dr. Viet emphasized.
The results and awards for outstanding authors and groups of authors are expected to be announced on December 16.
