On the afternoon of December 3rd, the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications announced that at the Announcement and Award Ceremony for the Vietnam Smart City Award 2024 (organized by the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association – VINASA in Hanoi from December 2nd to 3rd), the city was once again named, topping the list of cities nationwide in smart city development and receiving the highest award, the Vietnam Smart City Award 2024.

Along with the Vietnam Smart City Award 2024, Da Nang also continues to receive the titles of Smart Operations and Management City (IOC); City Attractive for Innovation and Startups; and Smart, Green, and Clean Environmental Management City.

At the awards ceremony, Hanoi was recognized as a pioneer in public service innovation and smart infrastructure with the titles of Smart Public Service City and Smart Infrastructure City.

Cao Lanh City, participating in the competition for the first time, won the title of Smart Education City.
Dr. Nguyen Quan (Former Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Awards Council) stated: "This year's nominations are of high quality, evaluated based on comprehensive criteria: Smart - Sustainable - Innovative."
The Vietnam Smart City Award was first held in 2020 and is positioned as an annual event of VINASA, aiming to honor pioneering and exemplary localities, organizations, and businesses in the journey of building smart cities.
