Da Nang: Launching the 1,500m² Lion and Dragon Museum on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival

On October 6, the most famous tourist area in the Central region, Sun World Ba Na Hills, officially opened the Lion and Dragon Art Museum at Hoi An Station 2. This is the first Lion and Dragon Art Museum in Vietnam, promising to become a new and attractive destination for tourists coming to Da Nang during the Mid-Autumn Festival this year.

With the goal of honoring this unique folk art form, Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area has created the first Lion and Dragon Museum in Vietnam, covering an area of ​​nearly 1,500 square meters , providing unique and interesting cultural experiences, contributing to bringing traditional art closer to domestic and foreign tourists.

Coming to the Lion Dance Museum, visitors will be led through a journey to discover the unique features of this art in all three regions of the North, Central and South, each region has its own distinct cultural color.

Entering the space for Northern Lion and Dragon Dance, you will feel the rustic yet majestic beauty when admiring the Northern Lion and Dragon Dance models, lions with drums, masks, Teu and Lion dance instruments. The art of Northern Lion and Dragon Dance bears a strong traditional folk mark, associated with village festivals, pagodas and sacred rituals.

The items displayed in this section are crafted by Northern artisans, showing traditional, rustic and unconventional beauty. More than a dance performance, the Northern Lion and Dragon Dance is an expression of belief - spirit - and respect for ancestors, with the belief of bringing good luck, warding off evil spirits, and praying for national peace and prosperity.

Visitors will learn about the art of Lion Dance from the three regions of North, Central and South.

Continuing the journey, visitors will explore the Central Lion Dance, where this folk dance art is widely known in Hoi An with the image of Thien Cau.

This is a typical folk dance form, which appeared more than 100 years ago and is closely associated with religious life, praying for peace and bountiful harvests.

In this area, visitors will admire the models of the Dog, Unicorn, and Dragon made by artisan Nguyen Hung - the only Unicorn and Dog head maker in Hoi An City.

With a more liberal and fresh style than the North and Central regions, the Southern Lion and Dragon Dance stands out with its bright colors, elaborate motifs, large lion heads and diverse expressions.

Visitors will be able to explore models of luminous dragons, the Four Sacred Animals (Dragon - Unicorn - Tortoise - Phoenix), unicorns and lion dance costumes. These items were made by artisan Le Hong - Head of the Lion-Unicorn-Dragon Troupe of Bay Ba Temple, An Giang .

After experiencing and learning about the unique values ​​of the art of Lion and Dragon dance, cable car line No. 8 will take visitors to visit the Moon Kingdom, from which they can easily explore other attractive destinations on top of Ba Na such as: Moon Castle, Eclipse Square, Mountain Train, French Village, Golden Bridge, Le Jardin D'Amour Flower Garden and Linh Ung Pagoda.
