The Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Competition in the Spring of Giap Thin 2024 will take place over 3 days from March 12 to 14 with the participation of more than 600 artisans, actors, musicians, and Lien Anh and Lien Chi singers from 9 mass art troupes and 62 Quan Ho villages. Notably, after 27 years of re-establishment of the province, for the first time, the Competition will have the participation of the mass art troupe and Lien Anh and Lien Chi singers from Bac Giang province participating in 2 content categories: music stage and Quan Ho duet competition.
At the music stage, the programs and performances are all elaborately staged, choreographed with artistic creativity, combining music with the typical style and quintessence of traditional Quan Ho cultural activities, reflecting the new vitality of the Quan Ho folk song heritage.

On the call-and-response stage, the pairs compete in a knockout format. The participants are male and female pairs who are working, studying and working in Bac Ninh , Bac Giang provinces and outside the province, aged 18 to 65. The pairs are selected through the preliminary round and are all people who love and are passionate about ancient Quan Ho, have dedicated themselves to learning, practicing their sentences and voices, know many melodies and understand the behavior of Quan Ho people.
The contest continues to affirm the development and vitality of Quan Ho cultural heritage, is an opportunity for artistic nuclei, Lien Anh and Lien Chi couples of all ages to participate, demonstrate their talent and love for the heritage, arouse pride and sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting the value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs.
This is one of the activities towards the 15th anniversary of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity (2009-2024); demonstrating Bac Ninh province's commitment to preserving and promoting the value of Quan Ho folk songs heritage.
Before the opening ceremony, the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, and National Assembly Delegation led by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan came to offer incense and flowers, respectfully expressing deep gratitude to the Ancestor of Quan Ho - Vua Ba. This annual activity took place before the opening ceremony of the annual Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Competition with the meaning of commemorating the founder and creator of Quan Ho folk songs.
