TPO - On May 6, Hanoi University of Science and Technology solemnly held the Ceremony to Announce the Resolution of the University Council on appointing Professor Vu Van Yem to the position of Vice President of the University.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor Huynh Quyet Thang - Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology - congratulated Deputy Director Vu Van Yem and shared: Since the end of 2024, implementing the construction and submission to competent authorities for approval of the Project "Developing Hanoi University of Science and Technology into the group of leading highereducation institutions in Asia", the Board of Directors and the collective leadership of the School found that it was necessary to add more Deputy Directors according to the development roadmap of Hanoi University of Science and Technology of the approved autonomy Project.

The tasks of the new Vice President, Prof. Vu Van Yem are: Attracting and developing talents, Internationalization - promoting the use of English, University rankings and implementing the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Branch in Hung Yen. These are urgent and responsible tasks and together with the tasks of the President and 3 other Vice Presidents, they ensure a logical, effective and complementary combination to successfully carry out the assigned tasks.

The Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology said: Hanoi University of Science and Technology is in a very special period, the final stage of implementing the strategic tasks 2017 - 2025 and starting the journey to implement the strategic tasks 2025 - 2035, vision 2045, with the goal that by 2030: Hanoi University of Science and Technology will become a modern university, a training facility, talent development, research center, excellent innovation in key technology fields; Make important contributions to digital transformation, green transformation, knowledge economy , digital economy of Hanoi capital and the country; Belong to the group of 100 - 150 universities in Asia in the field of engineering and technology.

Prof. Vu Van Yem also shared 4 implementation orientations right after taking office, which are: Attracting and developing talents; Improving university rankings; Promoting internationalization - Promoting the use of English throughout the university; Deploying a branch of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Hung Yen.

Prof. Vu Van Yem was born in 1975. He successfully defended his PhD thesis in 2005 at the National University of Telecommunications (TelecomParisTech), Republic of France; was appointed Associate Professor in 2009, Professor in 2019, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, majoring in Electronics - Telecommunications; was a member of the Basic Professorial Council (Electrical - Electronic - Mechanical Engineering Council) in 2012 and in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 (Electrical - Electronic - Automation Council), Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Before being appointed as Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Prof. Vu Van Yem was Head of the University's Organization and Personnel Department. He previously held the position of Head of General Administration Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
