On September 19, speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Trung Tin - Principal of Can Tho University - informed many goals and orientations of the school in the new school year. The most important of which is to continue to innovate teaching and learning, school management and administration to move towards a smart university model.

In addition to the project to upgrade the school to a high-quality training center of the region and the project to develop it into Can Tho University, the school also established branches in Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces.

In the new school year, Can Tho University welcomes over 9,300 new students, bringing the total number of students to over 37,000. This school year, the school opens 5 new undergraduate majors and 7 graduate majors; currently, the total number of undergraduate training programs of the school is 119, 52 graduate majors and 16 doctoral majors... The rate of graduates having jobs is over 95%.

The school's training programs are recognized as meeting the quality standards of the Ministry of Education and Training and the AUN-QA standards. Can Tho University is also one of nine Vietnamese educational institutions listed in the Global Best Universities Rankings published by US News & World Report Rankings.

In a message to the students, the principal of Can Tho University said that in the current era of scientific and technological development, students must dare to think, dare to do, dare to fail... to develop their creative potential and create new values.
