General Luong Tam Quang Affirms Vietnam's Cyber Security Is Strong and Sustainable

On the afternoon of August 5, the Ministry of Public Security held the first celebration of Vietnam Cyber Security Day, August 6, with the theme "Cyber security imprints and orientation in the era of national growth".

In Decision No. 1013 dated September 20, 2024 of the Prime Minister , August 6 of each year was chosen as Vietnam Cyber Security Day.

The event aims to raise awareness of the role, significance and benefits of cyber security, promote the participation of the entire political system, synchronous actions at all levels and the participation of all people to ensure the effective operation of the work of ensuring national sovereignty in cyberspace, and create a culture of cyber security in the new era.

This is also an opportunity for the Ministry of Public Security, with the core being the cyber security and high-tech crime prevention and control force, to be determined to accelerate the implementation of the tasks in Resolution No. 30-NQ/TW on the National Cyber Security Strategy; Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW on promoting the building of a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, modern People's Public Security force, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Thereby, consolidating and promoting the role and potential of the national cyber security and high-tech crime prevention and control force, continuing to build a solid people's security posture in cyberspace.

Protecting Vietnam's cybersecurity is associated with mastering cybersecurity industrial products.

General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security, emphasized that ensuring network security, data security, and information security of organizations and individuals is a continuous and inseparable requirement in the process of developing science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Perfecting the political and legal foundations, creating clear changes in implementing the Party and State's policies on protecting cyber security.

Accordingly, General Luong Tam Quang requested to master the cyber security industry products, focus on research and put the products into practice in all social activities. Develop a strong security industry to meet the requirements of the tasks.

"Every day from now on will be Vietnam Cyber Security Day. Vietnam, with its strong determination to firmly protect cyber security and national sovereignty in cyberspace, for a strong and prosperous Vietnam, will firmly enter a new era - an era of rich and powerful development of the nation" - General Luong Tam Quang emphasized.

Vietnam Cyber Security Day introduced a series of practical and meaningful events and programs in response, such as the launch of the National Cyber Security Operating System.

According to Major General Le Xuan Minh, Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Ministry of Public Security, this is important initiative to completely master cyberspace, have no security holes and be a tool and shield to protect national sovereignty in cyberspace.
