General Nguyen Chi Thanh - Outstanding leader of the Vietnamese revolution

On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of General Nguyen Chi Thanh's birth (January 1, 1914 - January 1, 2024), on the morning of December 29, the Ministry of National Defense coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department and Thua Thien-Hue province to organize the Scientific Workshop "General Nguyen Chi Thanh - Strategic leader, excellent practical leader of the Vietnamese revolution" in Hue city.

Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia attended and delivered a speech at the workshop.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that General Nguyen Chi Thanh is an exemplary senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution, a staunch communist soldier, a talented and prestigious leader of the Party, State and people, and an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh .

The workshop is a major and meaningful activity in the series of events celebrating the 110th anniversary of General Nguyen Chi Thanh's birth, aiming to review his life and glorious career and pay tribute to the General's great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

From there, valuable and practical lessons are drawn to educate patriotism, national pride, revolutionary ideals and to promote comprehensively and extensively the cause of innovation, construction and solid protection of the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

The workshop attracted 70 reports and presentations from experts and researchers, clarifying many new aspects of General Nguyen Chi Thanh's life, career, revolutionary activities and great contributions to the revolutionary cause. Thereby, it was affirmed that the General was a loyal and exemplary communist, a talented politician and military man, and a shining moral example.

The workshop also focused on analyzing and deepening the General's views on promoting the role of Party work and political work in building a strong People's Army.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, emphasized that General Nguyen Chi Thanh is a strategic leader and an excellent practical director of the Vietnamese revolution.

The General's qualities, talents, and enthusiastic revolutionary activities left the Vietnamese revolution an extremely valuable asset in both theory and practice in leading the revolutionary movement, building socialism, armed forces, building a revolutionary army, and developing the Party's guidelines and art of people's war.

General Nguyen Chi Thanh, whose birth name was Nguyen Vinh, was born on January 1, 1914, into a patriotic peasant family in Niem Pho village, Quang Tho commune, Quang Dien district, Thua Thien-Hue province. He participated in revolutionary activities early and was admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party in 1937.

During more than 30 years of continuous and vibrant revolutionary activities, General Nguyen Chi Thanh held many important positions such as: Member of the Politburo of the Party Central Committee (term II and term III), Director of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Binh-Tri-Thien Sub-regional Party Committee, Secretary of the Inter-zone Party Committee 4, Head of the Central Rural Work Committee, Secretary of the Central Office for the South, Secretary of the Military Commission of the Region, Political Commissar of the Liberation Armed Forces of South Vietnam...

On this occasion, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia presented 420 million VND to support house construction for poor households in A Luoi district./.
