Dak Lak issues sea ban to respond to storm No. 13

Due to the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi), the Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee has issued an order banning boats from going to sea and fishing activities at sea from 6:00 a.m. on November 5, 2025.

Accordingly, Dak Lak province requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of 12 coastal communes and wards to urgently notify and strictly prohibit ships from going to sea, and temporarily stop all fishing and seafood exploitation activities at sea. The Chairman of the province assigned the Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the Fisheries Sub-Department to closely coordinate with coastal localities to closely monitor weather developments. At the same time, proactively notify and guide fishermen to return to work after the storm, develop appropriate production plans, and ensure safety.

Regarding the work of ensuring the safety of people and vehicles operating at sea, the People's Committees of coastal communes and wards, along with relevant agencies and units, are required to organize propaganda, inspections, and instructions for fishermen to strictly comply with regulations when there is an announcement, calling on boats to take shelter from storms and anchor safely. The province absolutely prohibits people from staying on boats, aquaculture cages, and watchtowers during the storm.

The Provincial People's Committee requests relevant departments, branches, localities, organizations and individuals to urgently and seriously comply with the sea ban order, ensuring absolute safety of people and property.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13 and floods that are likely to directly affect the province, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province has issued document No. 1365/SGDĐT-VP to the People's Committees of communes, wards and affiliated units regarding allowing students to stay home from school to proactively prevent and avoid the storm.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of the province requires educational institutions in coastal communes and wards, such as: Song Cau, Xuan Dai, Binh Kien, Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen , Hoa Hiep, Xuan Loc, Xuan Canh, Tuy An Bac, Tuy An Dong, O Loan, Tuy An Nam, Hoa Xuan, Xuan Tho, Dong Xuan, Phu Mo... areas at risk of being directly affected by storms and storm circulation to organize students, university students, and preschool children to take a day off from the afternoon of November 5, 2025 (Wednesday) to the end of November 7, 2025 (Friday).

The provincial Department of Education and Training requires educational institutions to promptly notify parents, students, and pupils; ensure absolute safety for teachers and students during the school break. At the same time, units need to proactively organize make-up classes, ensuring the content of the curriculum after the weather stabilizes.
