Krong Nang Commune: Focus on preventing and fighting storm No. 13

The Party Committee of Krong Nang commune issued Official Dispatch No. 142 CV/DU; and the People's Committee of the commune also issued Official Dispatch No. 796/UBND-KT on the implementation of emergency response work to storm No. 13 (storm Kalmaegi) and heavy rain and floods in the commune.

Accordingly, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune directed the Commune Civil Defense Command to activate the commune-level response plan, ensuring compliance with the "4 on-site" motto (on-site command, on-site forces, on-site means, on-site logistics) and the "5 clear" principle (clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear time, clear results) to proactively respond to all situations of storm Kalmaegi, not to be passive or surprised in order to ensure safety of life, minimize property damage for people; absolutely not to let people go hungry or have no safe place to live when storms and floods occur.

A household living under the pine forest was mobilized by the Krong Nang commune government to relocate to ensure safety.

Direct the Militia and Commune Police to coordinate with village and hamlet chiefs to urgently organize inspections of areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides, and deep flooding, especially households living in mountainous areas, steep slopes, and along rivers and streams.

Prepare plans, forces, and means to organize evacuation and relocation of people in dangerous areas to safe places before heavy rain and floods occur; arrange forces to organize guarding and strictly control culverts, spillways, deep flooded areas, and fast-flowing water; resolutely not allow people and vehicles to pass through if safety is not ensured, to avoid unfortunate human losses.

Timely deploy rescue forces, organize evacuation of people, use specialized vehicles to access flooded areas; at the same time guide people on measures to protect production, organize early harvest of agricultural and aquatic products according to the motto "green house is better than old field" to limit damage.

Direct the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Commune Unions to organize well the work of mobilizing, donating, receiving and allocating resources to support the affected people, ensuring publicity, transparency and the right target. Promote the spirit of mutual love, solidarity in the community when serious natural disasters occur.

The Commune People's Committee also regularly directs through Zalo groups of villages and hamlets; coordinates with the Center for Communication - Culture - Sports of Krong Nang to promote propaganda, regularly update weather forecast information so that people can proactively prevent; at the same time, instruct on storm prevention skills, house bracing, property protection...

Krong Nang Commune is implementing the work of pruning trees at risk of being unsafe in the central area.

On November 6, the leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune inspected and grasped the situation in Loc Tan village (old Phu Loc commune), thereby mobilizing 10 households to temporarily relocate to Loc Tan village hall (8 households) and Phu Loc pagoda (2 households); relocated 1 household from the wooden bridge area to the village hall.

At the Cultural House of Loc Tan village, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of the commune Pham Ba Thin visited the health and situation of 8 households temporarily residing there; directed the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune to promptly support the people with necessary necessities for daily life such as: food, drinks, mosquito nets and mats.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Nang Commune, Tran Son Tung, said that by 4 p.m. on November 6, the commune had experienced heavy rain and relatively strong winds. The commune's leaders had gone to inspect areas of rivers, streams, ponds, dams, irrigation works and some bridges and schools; inspected and encouraged officers and soldiers of military units, militia, and medical stations on duty to respond to the storm.
