Foreign players help Nam Dinh Club dominate the field
With the determination to repeat the achievement of passing the group stage of AFC Champions League 2, it is understandable that Nam Dinh Club has deployed 10 foreign players in the main squad to welcome Ratchaburi at Thien Truong Stadium.
Mr. Vu Hong Viet used the best lineup, with Caique, Mitchell Dijks, Walber Motta, Lucas Alves, Kevin Pham Ba, Percy Tau, Caio Cesar, Mahmoud Eid, Marlos Brenner and Romulo da Silva. Among the strong "Western" squad, only 1 Vietnamese player was selected to start, that is central midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh.

With the foreign force overwhelming Ratchaburi (10 vs 6), Nam Dinh Club quickly controlled the game, attacking the opponent's goal. In just 15 minutes (from minute 16 to 31), attacking midfielder Percy Tau alone shot 3 times. Nam Dinh's foreign player was given the ball on the right wing, and with a skillful left foot, Percy Tau continuously turned into the middle to shoot but failed to score.
The image of Percy Tau "fighting left and right" also shows the face of Nam Dinh's foreign players. Although they are not in sync because this is the first official match with 10 foreign players playing together, but with superior physique, strength and technique, the international blood still helps Nam Dinh Club to pressure Ratchaburi. Only thing is, the coordination between foreign players is simple, shaky, with many unnecessary movements, creating opportunities for opponents to clear the ball to save the danger.
It was not until the 35th minute that the difference was made. Holding the ball in midfield, Hoang Anh passed the ball to Mahmoud Eid to run down the right edge of the penalty area, before the new player crossed the ball as if placing it for Caio Cesar to jump up and finish beautifully to open the score of the match.

After taking the lead, Nam Dinh FC continued to push up their formation to press and take advantage of their psychological advantage. However, Vu Hong Viet's students continued to finish poorly. The defensive gap was also exposed at the end of the first half, when Nam Dinh FC let Negueba shoot freely. However, goalkeeper Caique pushed the ball away to save the goal.
Ride on the victory
In the second half, Nam Dinh FC continued to attack first. In the 52nd minute, Percy Tau escaped to the right edge of the penalty area, but instead of turning back, he flicked the ball back delicately for Marlos Brenner to rush in and finish with a thunderous "burn" into Ratchaburi's net, raising the score to 2-0.
The goal feast at Thien Truong Stadium continued in the 57th minute, when Brenner once again shone. Receiving a cross from the left wing by Mitchell Dijks, Brenner bravely headed the ball into the net, completing his double in just 5 minutes to help Nam Dinh lead 3-0.
Hope was kindled for Ratchaburi when Nam Dinh FC made a mistake in the 60th minute. Denilson Junior (former Hanoi striker) received the ball in the penalty area. He was brought down by Lucas Alves, but the ball rolled to Tana's feet. The Ratchaburi striker immediately fired a powerful shot into the far corner, causing goalkeeper Caique to fumble and push the ball into the net.
However, with a 2-goal lead, Nam Dinh FC still controlled the situation. In the second half, coach Vu Hong Viet sent Kyle Hudlin onto the field to put pressure. The home team at Thien Truong Stadium wanted to use attack as defense, not giving Ratchaburi a chance to fight back.
With a 3-1 aggregate win over Ratchaburi, Nam Dinh FC shares the top spot in Group F of AFC Champions League 2 with Gamba Osaka, who also won 3-1 against Eastern in the opening match.
In the second match taking place on October 2, Nam Dinh Club will be a guest at Eastern's field.
