Chu Van Luong was born in 1233 and died in 1293. According to the Thanh Hoa City Geography book, Van Luong went to school at the age of 7. At the age of 13, he was well-versed in the classics and martial arts, so everyone respected him as a prodigy.

When he was 18, his parents passed away. He chose a good land and prepared all the necessary burial offerings. After three years of mourning, he devoted himself to studying and reading many books and teaching to follow his father's footsteps... He was a virtuous man with extensive knowledge. Many students heard of his reputation and came to study with him.

King Tran admired his talent and virtue, so he called him to the court and appointed him as Liet Hau Dong Binh Chuong Su. At the same time, he assigned him to Thanh Hoa (today's Thanh Hoa province) to conduct inspection.

When Chu Van Luong arrived at Nam Ngan land on the banks of Ma River, he saw the beautiful scenery and feng shui, the people were sparse, uneducated but simple and honest, so he decided to stay here, build houses, and open schools. From there, gradually creating a densely populated area.

From 1257 to 1285, the country faced invasion from the North, teacher Chu Van Luong participated in many resistance wars against the Yuan-Mongol invaders.
