Defeating the Philippines, U23 Thailand won third place in the U23 Southeast Asian tournament.

(Dan Tri) - Playing overwhelmingly, U23 Thailand defeated U23 Philippines 3-1 at Bung Karno Stadium (Indonesia) on the evening of July 28 and won third place in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament.

Being the stronger team, U23 Thailand dominated the game and pushed U23 Philippines back into their own half. This pressure materialized in the 30th minute when Praphanth scored with a shot inside the penalty area, giving U23 Thailand a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, U23 Thailand controlled the game, and in the 74th minute, Siraphop unleashed a clever left-footed shot to make it 2-0. Just five minutes later, U23 Philippines rekindled their hopes when Banatao reduced the deficit to 1-2 with a close-range header.

Nevertheless, resilience helped the Thais finish the game, with Seksan Ratree scoring a powerful shot to seal a 3-1 victory. Thailand U23 bid farewell to the Southeast Asian U23 Championship in Indonesia in third place overall.
