At the talks with the Organizing Committees of the Salavan and Savannakhet Provincial Party Committees, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Phung informed about some highlights of the socio-economic situation, national defense and security of Quang Tri province, about the work of Party building and organization, and the results of implementing the memorandum of understanding dated May 30, 2024 between the committees.

Accordingly, in 2024, the economy of Quang Tri province will achieve important results and continue to recover and grow. Regarding organization and personnel work, implementing the central government's direction, implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of the Party, the Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations, the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee after the arrangement will reduce 2 subordinate Party Committees. The Party bloc, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the province will reduce 8 agencies; the specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee will reduce 5 agencies.

From July 1, 2025, 10 district-level administrative units will be reduced, district-level staff will be transferred to communes, and 37 new communes, wards, and special zones will be established...

Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee Phan Van Phung also informed about the results of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding dated May 30, 2024 between the provinces.

Accordingly, implementing the memorandum of understanding signed on May 30, 2024, Quang Tri province held the closing ceremony of the XIII intermediate political theory training course in December 2024 and opened the XIV course in March 2025 for cadres of Salavan and Savannakhet provinces with 50 students/class; in July 2024, the first course on training leaders and managers at the department level for Salavan and Savannakhet provinces was closed with 40 students/class, and the second course is expected to open in July 2025.

At the talks, the parties exchanged experiences in preparing and conducting commune-level party congresses, especially in preparing personnel to join the commune party committee.

To strengthen and foster the special solidarity and friendship between the two Parties and the two States of Vietnam and Laos in general, and between the provinces of Salavan - Quang Tri; Savannakhet - Quang Tri in particular, the Organizing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee continues to propose that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of Quang Tri Province (new province) after the merger maintain the contents signed between the Organizing Committees of the three provinces of Quang Tri, Salavan, and Savannakhet.

In particular, continue to implement the memorandum of understanding, maintain visits and work. Regularly inform each other about the socio-economic situation, Party building and organization work, especially good practices, valuable experiences and sign the memorandum of understanding, provide some documents on Party building and organization work for all parties to study and refer to.

Continue to train and foster political theory to train leadership and management classes; recruit students to study at Quang Tri Pedagogical College and Quang Tri Provincial Medical College.

Focus on improving the quality of enrollment work. Increase close coordination in exchange and friendship, promote solidarity; care for Lao students studying and training in Quang Tri province.
