According to the creative team, in this film project, the audience will continue to see a film with a thrilling, mysterious, challenging color of the audience's nerves and minds from director Victor Vu. "Detective Kien: The Headless Case" promises to be a dramatic crime-solving work, where the boundary between reality and fantasy, between justice and crime becomes fragile. This is also a film genre that is receiving a lot of expectations from Vietnamese audiences when for many years, the public has been lacking this "spice" in their cinematic dishes.
The visual part of the film will be a prominent attraction, with many expectations about attracting tourists to the localities - where Victor Vu chose as the film's setting, similar to many of his previous films: "I see yellow flowers on green grass", "Mat biec"... According to the film crew, the frames in "Detective Kien: Headless Case" were filmed in Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, showing the meticulousness and high aestheticism of Victor Vu and his familiar crew.

“Detective Kien: The Headless Case” is a spiritual, thriller, and crime-solving film. The main cast includes: Quoc Huy as Detective Kien, Dinh Ngoc Diep as Hai Man, Quoc Anh as Thac, Anh Pham as Tuyet and Minh Anh as Nga, Meritorious Artist Xuan Trang as Quan Liem, People's Artist My Uyen as Ba Vuong (Quan Liem's wife). These are all names that have left an impression on audiences over the years. According to the creative team, many people are waiting for Dinh Ngoc Diep's return with an important role, holding many secrets of this film.
Sharing at the film introduction on the afternoon of April 14 at the Hanoi Opera House, director Victor Vu said that he pursues films that touch emotions after 10 years instead of hundreds of billions. Expressing many thanks to the audience, especially the Northern audience for always supporting his films in the past time, the male director also shared that he feels happy to be able to work, live fully with art and have a family who always accompanies and supports him in every project.

Explaining about making films with historical influences, director Victor Vu said that he felt happy because even films that he thought were selective for audiences like “Tunnel” were very successful. Through this film, he felt that Vietnamese people have a very strong national spirit. Professionally, the director believes that a project with historical influences must have truly meticulous and dedicated investments, not just in terms of budget. According to Victor Vu, film revenue is important and necessary to maintain and develop. But chasing sales is not something that suits him. Although Victor Vu has had films that topped the box office in the past, that is not what he pursues. He always wishes to make films that can be watched 10 years later and still touch the emotions of the audience…
In fact, at the event in Hanoi, the film crew not only had a simple promotional and film introduction session but also demonstrated their passion for storytelling – both on film and in real life – with the spirit of honoring Vietnamese culture and connecting more closely with audiences from all regions. Unique fashion shows and elaborately restored Vietnamese costumes by the film crew created a cinematic atmosphere, while spreading pride in the national cultural identity.
The film “Detective Kien: The Headless Case” is scheduled to premiere on April 30 at theaters nationwide. The film will have special screenings on April 25 and all day on April 26-27. Previously, the film was scheduled to premiere on May 16. The early screening on April 30 is considered an interesting move by director Victor Vu and his crew, giving audiences more options to watch movies during the long holiday.
