Nhat Tan peach blossoms are being hastily transported back to the orchards by truck to "revive" after Tet.

After the Lunar New Year of 2024, the peach blossom trees from Nhat Tan, which were rented out for tens of millions of dong, were collected by locals and replanted in the ground. They were pruned, watered, and sprinkled with lime powder... to ensure the trees thrived and were ready for the following year's Tet celebration.

As usual, after the full moon of the first lunar month, peach growers in Nhat Tan (Tay Ho district, Hanoi ) are busy collecting the peach trees they rented out before Tet (Lunar New Year) and bringing them back to the village to plant and care for them in time for the next Tet season.

The atmosphere here is no different from the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the only difference being that before Tet, there was a constant stream of vehicles transporting peach blossoms away, while now there's a rush of vehicles bringing peach blossoms back to the orchards.

This is also the time when those who work in transporting peach blossoms increase their income after Tet.

According to gardeners, reviving peach trees takes a lot of time and effort.

After bringing the peach trees home, we have to change the soil, prune the roots, fertilize, water, maintain moisture, remove flowers, trim branches, and sprinkle lime powder... to help the trees gradually recover," shared a representative of a garden in Nhat Tan peach village.

Each rented peach tree has the customer's information written on it.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong (46 years old, a peach tree grower in Nhat Tan) said that nowadays, they mostly rent out peach trees. Because large peach trees are very valuable, with ages reaching decades, their prices are very high, and few people dare to spend money to buy them for Tet. Besides, it's very difficult to find ancient, long-standing peach trees, so peach tree growers only rent them out and carefully maintain and care for them; the longer they are kept, the higher the price.

People are busy pruning branches, flowers, and young fruit to help the plants recover after being moved from pots to the garden.

After being brought back to the orchard, the peach trees are sprinkled with lime powder to slow down their initial growth rate, ensuring they develop well the following year.

Ms. Cúc (the owner of the orchard) said: "Stimulating the roots of old peach trees is much more difficult than planting a new peach tree. It requires the peach grower to have many years of experience. When replanting, the base of the peach tree must always be kept very clean, avoiding leaving grass and leaves around the base."

It can be seen that in recent years, in addition to growing and selling peach blossoms in the traditional way during Tet, peach blossom growers in Nhat Tan have learned to increase the value of the trees, not only serving the needs of customers but also increasing profits for the orchards year after year.
