The My Thuan Project Management Board signed a competition agreement with contractors to accelerate the progress of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project.

The My Thuan Project Management Board, along with all construction and supervision consulting units, strictly implemented the Prime Minister's directive to organize construction in "3 shifts and 4 teams" to achieve the planned targets. In some cases, the project even exceeded the required schedule.

To date, the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project has achieved nearly 81% overall progress, exceeding the plan by more than 4%. Specifically, the main Rach Mieu 2 bridge is currently more than 15% ahead of schedule.

Regarding the road section, contractors are working on the entire 14/14km route, having removed the load on nearly 8km, constructed 10km of crushed stone base course, and laid asphalt concrete in segments for over 3km.

In addition, contractors have completed the construction of four bridges (Xoai Hot, My Tho, Tam Son, Ba Lai), while the remaining two bridges are under construction (Rach Mieu 2 main bridge and Song Ma bridge). Of these, the Song Ma bridge is scheduled for completion in June 2025.

For the Rach Mieu 2 bridge, 100% of the P19 and P20 tower piers have been completed. The bridge deck has 14 main girder sections; 11 have been completed, and the 12th is currently under construction. Contractors have installed the 96th out of 112 cable stay bundles.

"To achieve the goal of completing the entire project, the My Thuan Project Management Board and other units have set a target to further accelerate progress within 45 days and nights, aiming for the completion of the main bridge of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge by April 30th. This is a prerequisite for completing the project as directed by the Prime Minister," Mr. Thi emphasized.

Launching a 45-day emulation campaign to accelerate the construction progress of the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route upgrade project and the Lo Te - Rach Soi route surface upgrade project.

On the morning of the same day, the My Thuan Project Management Board launched a "45-day and night" emulation campaign to accelerate the progress of the Cao Lan - Lo Te route upgrade project and the Lo Te - Rach Soi route surface upgrade project.

These are key transportation routes included in the 3,000km of expressways that need to be completed by 2025, as directed by the Government.

When completed, it will contribute to improving traffic capacity, meeting the transportation needs of the Mekong Delta region, and contributing to socio-economic development and national defense and security.

"Up to this point, the construction progress of the two projects has not met the planned schedule due to many objective and subjective reasons," Mr. Thi said.

For the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route upgrade project, by April 30th, contractors are striving to complete 7 out of 29 bridge decks; complete the girder installation for 12 out of 29 bridges; complete all 43 culverts on the service roads; complete the asphalt concrete construction of the main route; and complete the road excavation and ground leveling for branches N1 and N2 at the Lo Te intersection.

We are determined to shorten the construction time and complete the project before October 30, 2025, two months ahead of the contract schedule.

For the Lộ Tẻ - Rạch Sỏi upgrade project, the units are striving to complete the construction of cement-soil piles at the culvert heads; complete the road surface scraping and recycling; and complete at least 85% of the culvert extension sections.

The units are striving to complete the project before June 30, 2025, two months ahead of the contract schedule.
