On the morning of October 23, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held an online conference of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the project "Phase 1 of Ban Mong Reservoir, Nghe An Province". Deputy Minister of MARD Nguyen Hoang Hiep chaired the conference.

To implement the project "Ban Mong Reservoir Phase 1, Nghe An Province", the People's Committee of Nhu Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province was assigned as the investor of the Compensation, Support and Resettlement Component in the district.
Up to now, the Land Clearance Council of Nhu Xuan district has completed the inventory and compiled the inventory at the resettlement area of Dong Trinh village, Xuan Hoa commune with an area of over 332 hectares of 127 households currently using the land and Bai Tranh agricultural area. For the departure area, 154 hectares of 119 households of Thanh Son village, Thanh Hoa commune have been inventoried.

Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Van Cuong reported on the progress as well as difficulties and obstacles of Thanh Hoa province in the process of organizing the implementation of the project's components.
The Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requested the Steering Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate in resolving problems related to the discrepancy between the field and the actual water level contour handover records according to regulations. At the same time, he requested the Steering Committee's member departments and branches to provide maximum support to Nhu Xuan district to remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing the project's components.
For Nhu Xuan district, it is recommended that the locality accelerate the progress of site clearance at the destination and departure points when sufficient land for irrigation has been arranged. At the same time, select a contractor to carry out the construction of the new resettlement area according to the project schedule, so that people can soon stabilize their lives.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep emphasized: The Ban Mong Reservoir Project is a national key project. To complete the project as planned, localities need to be more proactive and determined in directing the implementation.
In the coming time, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development requested localities to prepare conditions to implement the damming and expansion of the reservoir according to the design; speed up the progress, complete the necessary procedures related to the remaining components to organize bidding to implement the project according to regulations.
