The Illinois State Lottery has just announced the winner of the Lucky Day Lotto on March 6. Accordingly, this person won the jackpot of 1.4 million USD (more than 34 billion VND) thanks to the series of numbers that are the birth dates of his children.

The winner, dubbed publicly by the lottery company as the "lucky mum", discovered she had won a fortune when her baby woke up crying in the middle of the night.

“My baby woke up crying. After I put him back to bed, I had a hard time falling back asleep. So to kill time, I opened the lottery app on my phone, and I couldn’t believe I had won $1.4 million,” said the lucky lottery ticket owner.

“I used my children’s birthdays as my lucky numbers. I have the best job in the world : I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I feel very lucky to be where I am in life. But today, the word ‘lucky’ takes on a whole new meaning,” the woman confided.

The Illinois Lottery said the winning numbers for the $1.4 million jackpot were 6, 8, 16, 17 and 20. The lottery is only available in Illinois and is drawn twice daily.

"This month, nearly 550,000 winning Lucky Day tickets were sold, with a total prize pool of more than $3 million awarded to Illinois Lottery players," the company said.
