China announced on November 10 that it will suspend retaliatory measures against five US subsidiaries of Hanwha Ocean Co for one year, effective November 10, 2025. The decision was made in accordance with domestic law and as a result of recent US-China trade talks in Kuala Lumpur, according to the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).
On the same day, the US also suspended Section 301 measures targeting China's maritime, logistics and shipbuilding sectors for one year, effective from Eastern time on November 10. Previously, the White House announced its decision to suspend port fees on Chinese ships, starting from November 1, within the framework of the trade war truce.

The bilateral move eases tensions in the shipping industry, which has been rocked by months of uncertainty over rival port fees since October 14.
The suspension has been welcomed by shipping companies, with Maersk calling it “positive news for customers, providing greater visibility, certainty and stability in the supply chain.”
Talks between the US president and Asian leaders have also helped resume long-distance soybean shipments from the US to China, boosting demand for dry bulk carriers, which have fallen sharply in recent months.
