Dangerous tricks of hostile forces
Currently in Vietnam, there are hundreds of different types of social networks, most of which are from foreign companies providing cross-border services. The most widely used are Facebook, Zalo, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Mocha,... Besides, there are applications: Viber, Telegram, Skype, Whatsapp for messaging with high security.
Hostile forces are sabotaging our country with extremely sophisticated, sinister, and cunning plots and tricks, especially taking advantage of the Internet and social networks to sabotage, from distorting historical facts, defaming leaders to making one-sided and incorrect assessments of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, and undermining the ideological foundation of our Party. Reactionary elements are also trying to spread the word: " Political pluralism and multi-party opposition are necessary conditions for implementing democracy in Vietnam." They spread information, documents, images, and video clips with bad and toxic content; posting mixed true and false information to attack and deny Vietnam's achievements in innovation; taking advantage of the recent fight against corruption of our Party and State to "distort" that this is just an internal "purge" and not for the purpose of serving the country's development. They also slander that corruption is the nature of the socialist regime, and that the one-party system cannot fight corruption. They hide under the guise of "democracy", "human rights", "religion", "nation", "territorial sovereignty",... to incite, entice, cause suspicion, confusion, dissatisfaction and frustration among the people.
At the same time, they also directly attacked the Vietnamese revolutionary press under the guise of "freedom of the press" and "freedom of speech", with the intention of separating the press from the Party's leadership, so that the press loses its political direction and fighting spirit.
In fact, this is a type of stereotype, they provide distorted information, self-made, speculative, provocative information to reduce people's trust in the Party's leadership. Therefore, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints has a particularly important role, in which the pioneering role of our country's press is important.
Strongly promote the role of the press as a vanguard and orientator
Over the years, our Party has always emphasized the position and role of the work of combating and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints and protecting the Party's ideological foundation. On October 22, 2018, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and combating and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation. This is an important content of the work of Party building and rectification, in which the press and media play a leading, pioneering and core role.
The press and media have gradually demonstrated their role in monitoring, criticizing, and clarifying issues that are still worrying about the country's socio-economic situation. They have aroused and actively participated in the fight against corruption and negativity, and protected legal discipline, in conjunction with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style.
Promoting the role of the shock press as the frontline and core force in propagating, fighting, preventing, and effectively refuting from early and from afar false, distorted, and distorted arguments to protect the Party's ideological foundation and the revolutionary cause of the entire people, contributing to preventing and combating "self-evolution" and "self-transformation", creating high consensus among all classes of people, and strengthening people's trust in the Party and the regime.
In nearly 40 years of renovation, our country has achieved great and historic achievements, fundamentally changing the face of the country and Vietnamese people, creating a new position and strength for the nation, and enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.
However, some press, publishing and media agencies in our country still show limitations such as the number of polemical articles to refute the distorted and reactionary arguments of hostile forces is not many, not deep, lacks theory and appeal. Meanwhile, hostile forces thoroughly take advantage of the press, the Internet, social networks, build websites to continuously post distorted, false, hostile information to sabotage the Party's ideological foundation; smuggle bad, toxic, reactionary documents and products into the country every day,... negatively affecting the ideology, morality and lifestyle of a part of the people.
The Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress affirmed: Building a professional, humane and modern press and media. Implementing well the planning and development of the press and media system, arranging the publishing, printing and distribution industry towards streamlining, quality and modernization. Strengthening the management and development of all types of media and information on the Internet. Resolutely fighting and eliminating toxic, distorted, reactionary products and information that negatively affect political and social stability and good customs and traditions.

Diversify forms of propaganda and counter-argument
To combat and refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints and protect the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation, it is necessary to implement the following solutions:
Strengthen the Party's leadership and the State's management of press activities. The press must strongly promote its vanguard role, continue to be the front line, consistently implement the principle that press activities are under the leadership of the Party, managed by the State and operate within the legal framework, always taking the lead in protecting Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's guidelines, and the State's policies and laws.
The leadership, management and administration agencies need to strengthen the Party building work in press and publishing agencies. The press team needs to raise awareness of the role and responsibility of the press in propagating and fighting against false and reactionary arguments; promoting the cause of innovation, the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The press and media need to innovate the content and methods of propaganda to improve the effectiveness of the fight against distorted arguments and protect the Party's ideological foundation. Build, train and improve the qualifications of journalists with strong political will, high theoretical knowledge, the ability to express and persuade, and the enthusiasm and courage to fight to protect the Party and the regime.
In addition, the press needs to create a forum to effectively perform its role of supervision and criticism of the people; promote digital transformation in operations; have a digital transformation strategy at the macro level and in each agency; promote the application of artificial intelligence, big data and new technologies; be cautious with sensitive and complicated issues; must completely eliminate sources of bad and toxic information; at the same time, must provide official, authentic, correct and timely information to society, ensuring spiritual food for the masses.
To successfully realize the aspiration to develop a strong and prosperous Vietnam, there needs to be great efforts, determination, and consensus among all classes of people. The press must always be a truly sharp weapon to "support the righteous and eliminate evil", accompanying the nation./.
