Make summer more beautiful for children

In recent years, accidents, drownings and street violence involving children have increased sharply during the summer. Worried, many adults have chosen to send their children to school to isolate them from accidents and social evils. A summer vacation to restore the strength and spirit of many children has been "stolen" by the extreme thinking of adults.

In urban areas, after a “full meal” on Children’s Day, many children continue to carry their backpacks in search of knowledge. This year, many cultural tutoring centers have been established, giving parents more options.

In recent days, many forums on social networks have been set up for review centers and parents to choose a place for their children to study in the summer.

Learning is never too much, but it needs to be organized scientifically . Instead of creating constant pressure to study, equip children with life skills, and summer is the most suitable time.

One thing to think about is that at the end of the school year, children often bring home a piece of paper to the local youth organization to confirm their participation in summer activities. But in reality, not many children participate in summer activities because they have to go to extra classes and many other reasons. Many of those papers are just signed as a formality for students to submit to the school.

Because of their worries, many adults are coming up with ways to manage their children that they think are right. Adults should abandon the mindset of cramming cultural knowledge during summer vacations, instead equipping children with life skills such as swimming, martial arts, arts... so that summer vacations are truly a useful time for children. This is also an investment in children to have a solid foundation for the future. Children will grow up and leave adults. They need to have the necessary skills to survive.

On May 10, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch No. 61/CD-TTg on organizing the High School Graduation Exam, ensuring the staffing of preschool and general education teachers and summer vacation for children and students in 2025.

In the telegram, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to direct and guide localities and educational institutions to implement management and education measures and strengthen coordination between schools and families to create conditions for children and students to have fun, participate in cultural and artistic activities, physical training, and practice life skills during the summer; manage children and students to prevent accidents, injuries, and drowning. People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities direct and guide relevant agencies and organizations to closely coordinate with the Youth Union and mass organizations to create an environment for children to have fun in a healthy way; practice life skills, participate in foreign language, cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities, and develop physical strength. In particular, propaganda and education to raise awareness and consciousness so that children know and comply with regulations on preventing accidents, injuries, and drowning. Clarify the responsibilities of agencies, departments, schools and families in ensuring children's safety during the summer vacation.

Summer with the "smile of the sun", with kites carrying children's dreams to fly. For many students, after a hard year of studying, they have many wishes. The wish to go to the beach with their parents, to participate in extracurricular activities, to return to their hometown to immerse themselves in nature... To make each summer vacation of children truly more meaningful, each adult must listen to the voices and thoughts of children to change their behavior accordingly. That is to live more responsibly with children, proactively give children rewards within their own conditions; and more importantly, to equip children with life skills, escape skills, put themselves in their shoes, to understand, share, and accompany their wishes, instead of imposing and forcing them.
