Dien Bien experienced a 5.0 magnitude earthquake, epicenter in Muong Cha

According to information from the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Earth Sciences , the earthquake had coordinates of 21.747 degrees north latitude, 103.129 degrees east longitude, with a focal depth of about 10km. The shaking lasted for about 3 seconds. Many people in some neighboring districts such as Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien district, Muong Lay town... clearly felt the shaking of this earthquake.

This earthquake is assessed at level 2 natural disaster risk in the epicenter (potentially affecting residential areas near the epicenter and surrounding areas). However, there are currently no reports of damage to people or property in the area.
