KBS reported on September 21 that on the morning of the same day, actor Yoo Ah In appeared at the hearing before the second trial on charges of drug use and aiding in the destruction of evidence.

After about three hours of interrogation, Yoo Ah In was handcuffed and taken to a detention center.

Upon leaving the court, Yoo Ah In apologized to the media for causing negative influence and said he would answer all questions honestly. He denied the charges of destroying evidence and forcing others to use marijuana.

However, while moving from the interrogation court to the waiting area, Yoo Ah In was thrown money in the face by a citizen.

This person then shouted: "Go to jail and use it." This is considered the audience's outrage at the "Movie King"'s accusation of drug use.

Authorities will announce whether to arrest Yoo Ah In today (September 21) or tomorrow (September 22).

Previously, on September 18, the Violent Crime Investigation Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said they had requested an arrest warrant for Yoo Ah In on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, destroying evidence, and evading charges.

According to the prosecution, Yoo Ah In was found to have used medical drugs, such as propofol (a prescription drug, banned for indiscriminate use in Korea due to its addictive potential), about 200 times at hospitals around Seoul since 2020, under the pretext of anesthesia for cosmetic procedures.

The amount of money Yoo Ah In spent on propofol alone is estimated at around 500 million won (more than 9 billion VND). This figure does not include other drugs the actor used.

In addition, the investigation found that the actor illegally used about 1,000 sleeping pills under the name of others on dozens of occasions. In January, he and four others used cocaine and marijuana in the US.

In May, police requested the arrest of Yoo Ah In and Choi, but the court rejected the request. The actor, who has been embroiled in a scandal since early February, has been banned from leaving the country.

Authorities determined that he tested positive for four drugs, including propofol, marijuana, cocaine and ketamine. Police are clarifying Yoo Ah In's motive for using illegal substances and their origin.
