On the morning of December 6, Military Hospital 175 organized a Scientific Conference with the theme "Update on treatment of periarticular injuries". This is one of the outstanding activities in the series of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology (CTCH), under Military Hospital 175 (December 8, 2014 - December 8, 2024).

The conference was attended by leading experts in orthopedic trauma: Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Phan Dinh Mung - Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175, Director of the Institute of Orthopedics; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Hoang - Deputy Director of Military Central Hospital 108; Associate Professor, Dr. Cao Thi - Deputy Head of the Department of Orthopedics, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City; Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Thanh Toan - Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Hospital...

Scientific Conference with the theme "Update on treatment of periarticular injuries".

At the conference, experts provided insights into advanced treatment methods and updated treatment strategies to improve skills and optimal surgical management of complex trauma cases and updated knowledge on joint replacement.

Periarticular trauma often originates from many different causes. Common periarticular trauma injuries include complex fractures, dislocations, cartilage damage, ligament rupture, vascular and nerve damage, etc. If not detected and treated promptly, these injuries can cause unforeseen consequences, greatly affecting the quality of life of the injured person.

This is an opportunity for experts, doctors, and nurses to exchange and learn, contributing to improving the quality of treatment and patient care. The event is also an important milestone, affirming the important role of the Institute of CTCH in the field of modern medicine in Vietnam.

It is known that the Institute of Orthopedics was formed on the basis of merging two specialties: the Department of Orthopedics and the Department of Burns, along with a number of units from specialties of Military Hospital 175.

Since its establishment, the Institute of Orthopedics has contributed to enhancing the treatment capacity of the Army's orthopedic trauma sector, along with the national health system in caring for and protecting the health of officers, soldiers and people in the southern provinces, contributing to reducing the burden on the local health system.

With 10 years of development, striving and growth, the Institute of CTCH was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Minister of National Defense for its outstanding achievements in admission, emergency, treatment and health care for soldiers and people. On this occasion, Military Hospital 175 awarded 3 certificates of merit and 16 certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals of the Institute of CTCH.
