Suspended lecturer accused of harassing female student

A lecturer at the National Defense and Security Education Center of Hai Phong University has been suspended from his duties after a female student accused him of harassment over the phone.

Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Rector of Hai Phong University, said on the evening of June 24 that the university would investigate and verify the incident.

Previously, numerous posts accompanied by seven videos circulated on social media accusing a male lecturer from the school of calling and speaking to female students using vulgar language and engaging in sexual harassment.

According to shared information, the female student who was harassed is a second-year student participating in this military training course with 134 other students at the center for three weeks, ending on June 17th. The informant believes that the truth needs to be exposed so that future courses do not encounter similar cases.

The Student National Defense and Security Education Center of Hai Phong University was established in 2003. It serves as a training center for national defense education for students from universities, colleges, and vocational schools in provinces and cities within Military Region III (Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, and Ha Nam).

Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Rector of Hai Phong University, also serves as the director of this center. The center currently has 6 student management teams.
