Despite a slight stumble at the beginning of the second set, Djokovic still excellently finished the match after 79 minutes.
The former world number one lost his serve for the first time this week at the tournament. But with his character, he quickly regained control of the match.
The Serbian continues to maintain his 30-match winning streak in 2025 whenever he wins the first set.
Notably, this victory not only raised Djokovic's head-to-head record against Hanfmann to 3-0. It also ended his streak of four consecutive semi-final losses at major tournaments this year, including Roland Garros (French Open), Wimbledon, US Open and Shanghai Masters.
Speaking after the match, Djokovic expressed his satisfaction: "I think this was my best match of this tournament and it came at the right time. Hanfmann is a dangerous player with a strong serve and an attacking style of play, so I had to be really focused. I was down 1-3 in the second set but I still kept my composure."
This is Djokovic's 144th ATP Tour final, spanning 23 different countries. It is also his third final of the 2025 season.
Djokovic's opponent in the final will be young Italian player Lorenzo Musetti. The cup match will take place at 10pm tonight, November 8 (Vietnam time).
The final was not only a title fight but also a "final of life and death" for Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian tennis player had to beat Djokovic to win the last ticket to participate in the ATP Finals - a tournament gathering the 8 best tennis players of the year.
As for Djokovic, he will reach 101 ATP titles in his career if he wins - a historic milestone and also a beautiful ending to his first professional tour in his second homeland, Greece.
