The race for the 2025 ATP Finals is halfway through. Alexander Zverev has become the fourth player to qualify, joining Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic. The tournament will take place from November 9 to 16 in Turin, Italy.
Alexander Zverev has officially qualified for the ATP Finals for the eighth time in his career. His ticket to Turin was decided after opponent Tallon Griekspoor withdrew due to injury before the Vienna Open quarter-final. And it sent Zverev straight into the semi-finals.
This is a worthy reward for Zverev's efforts throughout the 2025 season. He had an impressive year, reaching the Australian Open final. The German won on home soil in Munich to win his 24th ATP Tour title.
Zverev is no stranger to the year-end tournament. He won the title twice in 2018 and 2021. Since the tournament moved to Turin in 2021, Zverev has had an impressive record of 9 wins - 3 losses.
Before him, the world's top three tennis players had already qualified, namely Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.
The remaining four spots are still a fierce competition between many players. According to the "Race to Turin" rankings as of now, Taylor Fritz is the dominant player and ranked 5th. He is followed by Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur and Lorenzo Musetti.
However, there is still a chance for the players chasing behind such as Felix Auger-Aliassime, Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev.
The results of the upcoming ATP 500 tournaments in Vienna and Basel, along with the final ATP Masters 1000 of the year in Paris, will be decisive in determining the final eight players in Turin.
