Bac Ninh province delegation attends the "Vietnam - China Border Trade and Tourism Fair" in 2025

The “Vietnam-China Border Trade and Tourism Fair” and “Vietnam-China Exchange and Cooperation Week (Wenshan) 2025” are co-hosted by Wenshan County (Yunnan Province, China) and Tuyen Quang Province (Vietnam). The fair takes place from November 8 to 21 in Wenshan City, Yunnan Province.

With the theme “Sharing opportunities, joining hands to create prosperity”, the fair displays and introduces agricultural, forestry and fishery products, medicinal herbs; machinery, equipment, raw materials, chemicals, construction materials; electronics, refrigeration, household electrical appliances; footwear; consumer goods; wooden household furniture, wooden handicrafts… along with exhibition booths promoting investment, trade and tourism…

Here, provinces and cities of Vietnam and China held negotiation sessions and thematic exchanges on border gate construction, industrial and trade cooperation, cross-border tourism, bilateral cultural exchanges, science and technology development, etc. Thereby, creating two-way economic and cultural connections, contributing to promoting the friendly relations between Vietnam and China.

During the working trip, comrade Ngo Van Luyen, Head of the working delegation of Bac Ninh province and Head of the working delegation of the Northern midland and mountainous provinces of Vietnam including Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh, Lai Chau, Phu Tho and Dien Bien paid a courtesy visit to comrade Trieu Quoc Luong, Secretary of Van Son district; visited Van Son Panax Pseudoginseng Production Group (a typical product of Van Son district).

During the greeting session, the two sides exchanged and introduced the potential and advantages of socio-economic development of the locality. At the same time, they enhanced trade cooperation, created conditions for businesses of both sides to explore opportunities for cooperation in investment, trade, and agricultural exports, and supported businesses in implementing cross-border trade investment. They also enhanced cultural exchanges, organized festivals, cultural and artistic exhibitions, etc. with appropriate content and forms, contributing to promoting foreign affairs activities between the provinces and cities of the two countries Vietnam and China to develop and become more sustainable.

It is known that Wenshan Prefecture is located in the southeast of Yunnan Province (China) with 8 districts and cities directly under the province; there are 11 ethnic groups living; the total permanent population is 3.372 million people. The estimated GDP of the locality in 2025 is 154.911 billion yuan, ranking 11th among 30 autonomous regions of ethnic minorities in China; the average income per capita is 25,467 yuan, an increase of 5.3% compared to 2024.

Over the past time, the Vietnam - China relationship has maintained a positive development trend and achieved many important results. Since the relationship was upgraded to the "Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future", the Vietnam - China relationship has had strategic significance, continuing to maintain a positive and favorable development momentum and having clear and comprehensive changes. From the beginning of 2025 to now, in the context of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - China diplomatic relations (1950 - 2025), the two sides have continued to promote high-level exchanges and contacts in many flexible forms.

For Bac Ninh province, recently, the province has been implementing agreements and memorandums of understanding on cooperation with 5 localities of China, including: Nanning city, Lai Tan city (Guangxi), Weifang city (Shandong), Zhenjiang city (Jiangsu), Hekou district (Yunnan).

Chau Van Son in particular and Yunnan province (China) in general have created favorable conditions for the province's agricultural products to be exported; especially creating a green channel for lychees from Bac Ninh province to be exported to China through Thien Bao border gate. Currently, the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Commerce of Yunnan province (China) on strengthening cooperation in the field of economy and trade.

The event of the delegation of Bac Ninh province and the delegation of some northern mountainous provinces of Vietnam attending the series of events of the "Vietnam - China Border Trade and Tourism Fair" and "Vietnam - China Exchange and Cooperation Week" in 2025 has practical significance, contributing to strengthening the relationship between Bac Ninh province and Nanning city in particular, between Vietnam and China in general.
