The Industrial Park Management Board requires businesses to closely monitor storm developments, proactively deploy forces, vehicles and equipment to respond on-site; regularly inspect and reinforce factories, warehouses and construction sites to ensure safety of people and property.
Investors in industrial park infrastructure are required to check the power grid, wastewater treatment plants, and billboards to prevent incidents when storms occur. In addition, units must maintain communication with the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, local police and military forces, and the Industrial Park Management Board to coordinate and promptly handle arising situations.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm Kalmaegi, on the morning of November 6, Lavite Joint Stock Company, in Phan Thiet Industrial Park, urgently deployed many preventive measures to ensure the safety of workers and business assets.
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Duc - General Director of Lavite Joint Stock Company, from early morning, the company mobilized all human resources to reinforce the factory roof by pouring soil into bags, placing them evenly on the roof to limit the roof from being blown away by strong winds. In addition, the company proactively works to prevent flooding, purchasing high-capacity pumps to be ready to pump out water when flooded.
“The company is always proactive in responding. If the flood water cannot drain in time, there will be someone on duty to operate the pump to handle it immediately, so as not to affect production,” said Mr. Duc. In addition, the company also arranged for staff to be on duty at the factory during the storm, and prepared materials, generators and lighting equipment at the factory to be ready to respond when necessary.
Not only in Phan Thiet Industrial Park, enterprises in industrial parks in the province are also urgently reviewing and checking factory systems, warehouses, wastewater treatment areas and trees... Some units are preparing materials, pumps and rescue vehicles to prepare for the "four on-site" plan.
According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm Kalmaegi is moving in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 25 km/h and is likely to strengthen, reaching level 15 (167-183 km/h) in the next 12 to 18 hours. This is a storm that is forecast to be very destructive, causing strong winds, heavy rain, high waves, flash floods and landslides in many localities.
