Strong opponents of Vietnamese women's futsal

On the afternoon of January 19, the Vietnamese women's futsal team faced the Taiwanese women's futsal team in the final match of Group D - the re-round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship. This was the decisive match to determine which team would advance to the top spot in Group D. Before that, both teams had already secured tickets to the final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship, with a perfect record in the first two matches.

Accordingly, Vietnam beat Myanmar 5-1, defeated Macau 21-0. Taiwan beat Macau 18-0, defeated Myanmar 4-0. Before facing each other in the final match of Group D on the afternoon of January 19, Vietnam and Taiwan both had 6 points.

Le Thi Thanh Ngan (6) equalized 1-1 for the Vietnam women's futsal team

The Vietnamese women's futsal team and the Taiwanese women's futsal team created a fairly balanced match on the field. The Taiwanese women's futsal team scored the opening goal in the 10th minute. Chen Min Haung handled the situation well on the left wing and fired a powerful and dangerous shot, breaking the deadlock of the match, putting Taiwan ahead 1-0.

Not long after conceding a goal, the Vietnamese women's futsal team equalized. In the 11th minute, from a very good combination, Bien Thi Hang created a favorable pass for Le Thi Thanh Ngan to finish decisively, bringing the match back to the starting line.

In the 17th minute, the Taiwanese women's futsal team regained the lead. After a corner kick from the right wing, Liu Chih Ling scored to make it 2-1.

Bien Thi Hang (12) scored a valuable goal to help the Vietnamese women's futsal team regain 1 point, thereby advancing to the final round as group winners.

The Taiwanese women's futsal team maintained the 2-1 score until the end of the second half. It was not until the 39th minute that the Vietnamese women's futsal team was able to equalize thanks to the power-play tactic. The Vietnamese girls counter-attacked and Bien Thi Hang decisively finished to level the score at 2-2.

This was also the final score of the match. With this result, the Vietnamese women's futsal team advanced to the 2025 Asian women's futsal finals as the top team in Group D. Vietnam and Taiwan both have 7 points, with a record of 2 wins and 1 draw. However, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team ranked higher thanks to a better goal difference (25 vs. 22).
