On the evening of April 5, in the exhibition space "Like layers of silt" taking place at Vincom Contemporary Art Center (72A Nguyen Trai, Hanoi ), there will be a dialogue event "Tone" between musician Quoc Trung and painter Trinh Tuan.
The intimate dialogue between two dedicated artists with long-standing practice is expected to open up interdisciplinary references as a perspective on creative labor and the inherent connections between the arts.

“Voice” is what the ear hears: pitch, intensity, duration. “Voice” is what the eye cannot see: the layers of paint underneath, gradually revealed through each stroke of the artist’s sanding. “Voice” goes beyond the surface, is the multi-sensory vibrations before the impression of depth and material.
Meanwhile, “color” is the presence of texture, of distance, shape, thickness, is the feeling of space. “Color” is the subtle changes, the rich nuances of the same note, the same color depending on the tools, materials, the emphasis of the artist’s hand and the personal associations of the listener.
According to information from the Organizing Committee, "Tone" in each work of art is where the artist's mark exists, where art is discussed equally, and where endless imaginations allow viewers to immerse themselves in deep layers of emotions without needing to be named.
Quoc Trung is a veteran musician and producer in the Vietnamese music industry. Trained at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music and studying in Europe, he founded the band Phuong Dong and won first prize at the National Light Band Festival in 1993. Quoc Trung is famous for his role as an album producer, organizing music programs such as Monsoon Music Festival, Rock Storm, or Sonica Festival and composing film music.
Artist Trinh Tuan graduated from the University of Industrial Fine Arts in 1985. His career is deeply attached to the lacquer material, with works that are rich in aestheticism. Trinh Tuan's paintings are both surrealistic and dotted with pieces of reality where the characters are imbued with emotional depth. In more than 30 years of practice, his works have been displayed at many prestigious exhibitions of various scales both domestically and internationally.
