Vietnam team in Qatar

The Vietnamese team arrived in Doha, Qatar at 5pm on January 5 and were given the opportunity to complete immigration procedures immediately afterwards. The players arrived at their accommodation about an hour after landing. The Vietnamese team was arranged to stay at the Holiday Inn Hotel - a familiar location whenever Vietnamese teams come to train and compete in Doha, Qatar.

At the hotel, the Vietnamese team received a warm welcome with flowers, food and some traditional music from the host country. The players were excited but quickly checked in to their rooms to rest after the 8-hour flight.

The Vietnamese team was welcomed when they arrived in Qatar.

The Vietnam national team has only finalized the list of 30 players to go to Qatar on January 4. Nguyen Hoang Duc is the last player to say goodbye to the Vietnam national team. He suffered an ankle injury and is not fit enough to play in the 2023 Asian Cup.

Mr. Troussier does not have the best squad in hand when a series of key players are absent due to injury. This is the reason why the French coach still brought 4 more players to Qatar even though he was only allowed to register 26 people.

The Vietnamese team arrived at the competition venue early and considered this a training period, getting used to the weather and pitch of the host country of the 2023 Asian Cup. The Vietnamese team had a friendly match with the Kyrgyzstan team on January 9.

According to AFC regulations, up to 6 hours before the match, the head coaches can still change the registered list of players. Therefore, the list of Vietnam team that AFC announced this morning is not the final list. There are still opportunities for young players like Nguyen Van Truong and Le Van Do.

In the 2023 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese team is in the same group with Japan, Indonesia and Iraq. The Vietnamese team will play their opening match against the Japanese team on January 14. The goal of coach Troussier and his team is to pass the group stage of the tournament.
