Promoting digitalization
Mr. Huynh Cong Quan - Director of the Department of Finance of Ca Mau province said that the locality currently has more than 9,000 operating enterprises, of which small and medium enterprises account for about 98%. Enterprises are actively promoting digital transformation in production and business.
Ca Mau province has signed strategic cooperation agreements with large technology corporations such as VNPT and Viettel for the 2025 - 2030 period, to support businesses in applying technology to production and business.
Up to now, 100% of enterprises, economic organizations, households and individuals doing business in the province have deployed electronic invoices. About 97% of enterprises have registered and paid taxes electronically. More than 3,000 enterprises have registered to use the domain name ".vn". 167 enterprises and cooperatives have built e-commerce websites. 1,639 enterprises have deployed online social insurance declaration software. 12,712 VNPT -CA digital signatures and smart CA remote digital signatures have been deployed for 4,872 enterprises.
Mr. Quan said that the impressive figures above show that digital transformation is no longer a trend, but has become an inevitable part of production and business activities of enterprises in Ca Mau. The province has over 670 vehicles belonging to 45 transport enterprises equipped with the VNPT-Tracking journey monitoring system, the management efficiency and traffic safety have been significantly improved.
"Essential service sectors such as electricity and water are also at the forefront of this revolution: the electricity company has provided 100% electronic contracts, the clean water and environmental sanitation center has provided 26,000 electronic contracts, both units have integrated cashless payment solutions. This not only brings maximum convenience to people, but also demonstrates the professionalism and modernization of businesses, contributing to the overall development of the locality," the head of the provincial finance sector cited.
Mr. Ta Hai Dang, a business owner operating in the sports industry, shares how to analyze data from digital platforms.
Mr. Ta Hai Dang, owner of a business operating in the sports field with the brand Tada Sport, said that in the past, managing branches in remote areas such as Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang was a big challenge, from controlling inventory, revenue to managing human resources.
“Now, with just a few operations on the system, I can grasp all information intuitively and accurately. This helps save time and effort, significantly reduces errors, and helps us focus more on improving service quality and customer experience.
Furthermore, by analyzing data from digital platforms, we know which products our customers are interested in and which trends are popular, so we can update products and services promptly and come up with appropriate marketing strategies,” Mr. Hai shared.
Efforts to keep up with the trend
Besides the advantages, digital transformation activities of enterprises in the province in recent times still have many limitations. The level of application of digital technology in production and business activities is not much, and the potential and advantages of the 4th industrial revolution have not been fully exploited.
Mr. La Van Hieu, a business owner in Tan Thanh ward, said that business households like him also want to catch up with the digital transformation trend. However, managing the export, import, and inventory of goods according to tax regulations on declaration on digital platforms is a big challenge. "We hope to receive more support from the authorities, specific and detailed instructions, and create favorable conditions in terms of time for us to adapt and comply with regulations," said Mr. Hieu.
Chairman of the Ca Mau Province Business Association Le Hoang Phuoc said that the whole province has about 30,000 business households trained on electronic contracts, but only 2,200 business households have implemented them, a rate of about 7%.
“From that reality, the association recommends that telecommunications enterprises such as Viettel, VNPT... must be more drastic, divide the market share for development, and need to set specific targets by the end of 2025 to meet the goals set by the Provincial People's Committee. In addition, business households, together with the provincial business association, network operators, and the Provincial People's Committee, need to make the most of the incentives of Resolution 68 on private economic development,” Mr. Phuoc suggested.
Ca Mau province aims for 70% of small and medium-sized enterprises to access digital transformation platforms to improve competitiveness and innovate growth models.
According to research, digital transformation can boost GDP growth by up to 3% per year in developing countries, becoming an important factor for Vietnam's continued growth. Ca Mau province has signed strategic cooperation agreements with major technology corporations such as VNPT and Viettel in the period of 2025 - 2030, aiming to take advantage of the resources and experience of leading units, thereby supporting businesses in applying technology to production and business.
Especially in key economic sectors such as aquaculture, agriculture and tourism. The province aims for 70% of small and medium enterprises to access digital transformation platforms, in order to promote the application of technology, digital infrastructure, and digital economy to improve competitiveness and innovate growth models.
According to the head of the provincial science and technology sector, Nguyen Phuong Bac, Ca Mau belongs to the group with a lower-than-average enterprise density, small-sized enterprises, mainly households, traditional production and business habits are still common and there is a fear of change. Digital infrastructure is not yet synchronized, the level of readiness for digital transformation of enterprises is still low, requiring a faster and stronger transformation speed.
Inevitable trend Before the 4.0 revolution and the "quartet" of resolutions of the Politburo, including Resolution 57 on science and technology development and innovation to 2030, vision 2045, most small and medium enterprises and households from urban to rural areas always expect to have more favorable conditions in terms of institutions and technology to help businesses improve productivity, competitiveness and sustainable development in the digital economy. Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan affirmed: "Digital transformation is an inevitable trend today, not only businesses but also the government and people have applied information technology and digital transformation. If we do not pay attention and resolutely promote digital transformation, it will be difficult to succeed. Therefore, we must "popularize education" in digital transformation to change the mindset and fear of change." |
