On behalf of the Central Organizing Committee, comrade Hoang Dang Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Organizing Committee, announced: The Politburo decided that comrade Do Van Chien, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ceased to participate in the 13th Secretariat, ceased to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, ceased to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations for the 2020-2025 term; transferred, assigned, appointed to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Previously, the Politburo decided that comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, ceased to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee.

On behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary To Lam presented the decision and flowers to congratulate comrade Do Van Chien.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the assignment and appointment of comrade Do Van Chien to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term aims to implement the Party's policy, prepare well, and ensure the success of the 14th National Party Congress.

The General Secretary stated that Comrade Do Van Chien had participated in the revolution and grown from the grassroots, and had a lot of experience in gathering and mobilizing the masses. He had made every effort and successfully completed the assigned tasks in any position, from the local level, in the central agencies and especially during his time as a member of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The assignment and appointment of the comrade to the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee aims to strengthen the Party's leadership, contribute to making the National Assembly increasingly promote its role and position in the country's political system, and more effectively institutionalize the Party's guidelines and policies.

The General Secretary hopes that comrade Do Van Chien, in his new position, will continue to unite with comrades in the National Assembly Party Committee and the National Assembly Standing Committee, focus on leading the National Assembly to complete its tasks, and organize and well implement the Party's guidelines, lines and policies.

The General Secretary asked comrades in the National Assembly, the National Assembly Party Committee, and the National Assembly Standing Committee to continue to maintain the tradition of solidarity and unity, creating more strength to coordinate to successfully complete tasks; comrades in the Fatherland Front Party Committee and central organizations always stand side by side with the National Assembly, coordinating so that all agencies can successfully complete their tasks.

In his acceptance speech, comrade Do Van Chien respectfully thanked the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and General Secretary To Lam for entrusting him with the new responsibility. Affirming that this is both a great honor and a new responsibility, he said he will strive to fulfill his duties well, constantly study, cultivate, practice moral qualities, perfect working methods, unite, be devoted, and do his best together with comrade Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to fulfill all tasks of the agency well.
