Total production value in 2023 is estimated at 18,745 billion VND, up 6.35% compared to 2022. Of which, agriculture and fishery is estimated at over 3,600 billion VND, up 2.54%; industry and basic construction is estimated at 11,860 billion VND, up 7.6%; trade and services are estimated at over 3,200 billion VND, up 6.3% compared to 2022. The economic structure is shifting in a positive direction: agriculture accounts for 22.5%, industry and basic construction accounts for 57.3%, trade and services account for 20.2%. Total social development investment capital is estimated at 5,346 billion VND, up 6.2% compared to 2022; export turnover is estimated at 219.6 million USD. Average income is 61.38 million VND/person/year.

During the year, Party committees and authorities at all levels have paid attention to directing and correcting violations in land management and use and difficulties in land clearance and recovery, so there have been positive changes. Up to now, Dong Phuong commune has been recognized as a commune meeting advanced new rural standards; the district is focusing on directing 4 other communes to complete the criteria for appraisal by the end of 2023 and early 2024. During the year, 14 projects were approved for investment policy.

In 2024, Dong Hung district strives for a total production value of VND 22,090 billion, an increase of 10.8% compared to 2023; total social investment capital to increase by 9% compared to 2023; export turnover to reach 219.6 million USD; by the end of 2024, there will be 5 more communes achieving advanced new rural status; the poverty rate will decrease by 0.14% over the same period.
