Dong Nai makes first tourism project under forest canopy

The first eco-tourism, resort and entertainment project under the forest canopy in Dong Nai will be implemented along the La Nga River with a budget of 2,800 billion VND.

On June 12, the Tan Phu Protective Forest Management Board, Dong Nai, signed a contract to lease 480 hectares of forest environment in Dinh Quan district to The Coi Dong Nai Joint Stock Company to implement a forest canopy tourism project in the period 2024 - 2030.

The project will be implemented in 10 forest locations on a total area of ​​about 42 hectares, with the highlight being the Bau Nuoc Nguoc area (hot from 50 to 60 degrees Celsius), the rock complex at Mai waterfall, Chin Chi waterfall, Bat Cave and many waterfalls, rivers and streams. The items deployed to serve tourism include motels, hot spring bath areas, restaurants, internal roads, parking lots... with a total budget of 2,800 billion VND from socialized sources. This is the first eco-tourism project under the forest canopy (renting forest environment, bare land, grasslands for tourism, not affecting the ecosystem) in Dong Nai to be approved, with investors, aiming to exploit, preserve and promote the value of forest resources.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, in the first year of operation in 2025, the project is expected to attract 330,000 visitors , with tourism revenue reaching about 176 billion VND. By 2030, the project will attract 730,000 visitors, with revenue reaching 460 billion VND. The project is also expected to create jobs for nearly 2,000 local workers when completed in 2030.

Tan Phu protective forest is 18,000 hectares wide, located in Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts with many ecosystems such as evergreen broadleaf closed forest, bamboo forest, mixed secondary forest of bamboo and broadleaf trees, grasslands, and shrubs. Tan Phu protective forest area also has the La Nga river system flowing zigzag, winding with many rapids creating a majestic landscape.

In addition to Tan Phu protective forest, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee also approved an eco-tourism project in Dong Nai Cultural Nature Reserve with 51 locations and a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND.
