Specifically, Eximbank announced a fee of 50,000 VND for closing VND accounts within one year from the opening date; for foreign currency accounts, it is 2 USD. For international credit cards, the fee for closing the card within 6 months from the date of issuance is 200,000 VND. Similarly, Vietnam Prosperity Bank ( VPBank ) has the same fee for individual customers closing regular payment accounts or international credit cards, both at 50,000 VND or 2 USD, or the equivalent in foreign currency. The fee for closing a Timo credit card from VPBank is 300,000 VND.
At Vietnam International Bank (VIB ), customers closing a payment account will be charged a fee of 50,000 VND. For VIB Family Link credit cards (Visa cards), the closing fee within 12 months from the date of initial issuance is 499,000 VND; for VIB Travel Élite cards, the closing fee within 12 months is 699,000 VND.
Vietcombank , on the other hand, requires customers to pay a fee of 20,000 VND if they close their payment account within 12 months of opening, and this fee is waived after that period. For international credit cards in general, this bank requires customers to pay a card termination fee of 100,000 VND; however, the Vietcombank Visa Signature card is exempt from this fee.
Sacombank also charges a fee of 50,000 VND or 5 USD for closing a payment account within 12 months from the opening date; Dong A Bank charges 22,000 VND for closing a multi-purpose card within 12 months from the opening date; after 12 months, the fee is waived. HDBank, however, waives the account closing fee...
