Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment (Standing body of the Provincial Steering Committee on IUU) maintains strict control of all fishing vessels entering and leaving the port according to regulations. Resolutely does not allow unqualified or unregistered fishing vessels to participate in fishing activities. Weekly update of the list of fishing vessels at high risk of violating IUU fishing.

Closely monitor and supervise fishing vessels operating at sea 24/7 via the VMS fishing vessel monitoring system. Promptly warn and contact the vessel owner and captain to ensure that no violations of VMS connection or violations of permitted fishing boundaries at sea occur. Fully, accurately and promptly update data to fisheries databases.

In addition, proactively coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to prepare the content, program and overall plan to receive and work with the 5th EC Inspection Delegation to ensure the best results according to the EC Inspection plan. Always be ready to welcome the EC Inspection Delegation and ensure to provide complete and consistent information with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment .

Relevant units were also assigned to urgently advise on the draft Resolutions: regulating policies to support career conversion and decommissioning of fishing vessels that do not need to operate; regulating policies to support fishermen in upgrading and replacing fishing vessel monitoring equipment to meet the prescribed conditions and maintaining the connection of the fishing vessel monitoring equipment system in the area.

The Military Command of Dong Thap province continues to focus resources on border posts and stations to strictly control and ensure that fishing vessels leaving port to participate in fishing activities must have confirmation of departure from the fishing port. Fishing vessels entering port through border posts and stations must be notified to the fishing port, commune police, and local authorities for control and handling if they do not dock to unload exploited aquatic products according to regulations. Do not allow unqualified fishing vessels to participate in fishing activities. Coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to closely monitor and supervise fishing vessels operating at sea.

The People's Committees of communes and wards with fishing vessels continue to propagate efforts to combat IUU fishing in the province. Propagate legal regulations against IUU fishing to the fishing community and relevant organizations and individuals to know and implement. Direct specialized departments to coordinate with border guards, commune police... to monitor anchorage locations, ensuring that 100% of unqualified fishing vessels are not allowed to participate in fishing activities.
