Dong Trieu: Focus on investing in infrastructure projects

Investing in infrastructure projects is considered an important foundation to improve the quality of people's lives. Therefore, Dong Trieu Town has always considered this as one of the key tasks.

Taking reporters to visit key infrastructure projects that have been and are being invested in and built in the area, Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, Deputy Director of the Dong Trieu Town Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: Recently, many infrastructure projects in the area have been built, not only bringing a new look to the town, but also making an important contribution to improving the quality of people's lives.

In particular, in 2023, many projects have been registered to have signs to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the province's establishment, such as: Project to renovate and upgrade the road from National Highway 18 to My Cu Pagoda (Hung Dao Ward); renovate and upgrade the main road of Viet Dan commune from Cua Phuc village gate to the intersection of An Sinh temple - inter-provincial road 345; asphalt paving the central road of Trang Luong commune; road connecting the intersection of Hung Dao bypass to Hong Phong urban area; investment in the construction of the town's central square.

The route has a total investment of 58 billion VND, length of 2.3km, road surface is 7m wide, the section through the residential area has sidewalks and trees, triangular ditch system, and a bridge over Ngo river.

The Deputy Director of the Dong Trieu Town Construction Investment Project Management Board shared: This route is the concretization of the general planning of Dong Trieu Town to 2030, with a vision to 2050; the 1/2000 scale zoning plan for the southern area of Dong Trieu. At the same time, it reduces the load on the inner-city road; enhances trade and agricultural development between the two wards of Hung Dao and Hong Phong.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (Hung Dao Ward) said: Since the road was put into use, traffic and trade between the two wards have become extremely convenient. Previously, we had to go through the inner city road which was far, crowded, and did not ensure traffic safety.

At the construction site of the town's central square (Kim Son ward), despite the hot and humid days, workers are still actively cleaning up, preparing to put it into use next July. The project has a total investment of 76.3 billion VND with an area of nearly ^38,000m2 . The investment scale includes the traffic system, yard, water supply and drainage system, lighting, trees, toilets, and parking lot.

Currently, the Town Central Square has basically completed the investment items, is being edited and cleaned for acceptance. This is an important project in creating an urban public space that meets the goal of organizing cultural and political activities for the town and is a living, entertainment and recreation space for local people, as well as becoming a tourist attraction when coming to Dong Trieu; contributing to creating an urban landscape in the new administrative center of the town with a convenient transportation system.

In addition to the above projects, in 2023, the town also approved the investment policy for two other public investment projects using the town budget: Renovation and upgrading of Dong Dung bridge and access roads in Dong Dung village, Ba Xa hamlet, An Sinh commune; project to install a visual propaganda system in the town.
