Notably, from the evening and night of June 19, the North experienced increased rainfall in both quantity and area. Specifically, the mountainous and midland areas of the North experienced moderate and scattered rain with thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 20 - 40 mm, some places over 100 mm; other areas experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 10 - 30 mm, some places over 70 mm.
However, this area still has some hot spots. On June 19, the highest temperature in the Northern Delta and Hoa Binh is 35 - 36 degrees, some places are over 36 degrees. The lowest relative humidity is commonly 55 - 60%. From June 20, the heat will gradually subside. Thunderstorms after a hot day need to be on guard against extreme weather phenomena.
Weather forecast from the night of June 20 to 28, the meteorological agency said that from the night of June 20 to the night of June 21, the North will continue to have showers and scattered thunderstorms, especially in mountainous and midland areas, there will be rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain; later there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain (thunderstorms concentrated in the late afternoon and at night).
Meanwhile, the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen will have strong heat waves lasting until June 22, instead of June 20 as previously forecast; there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night.
Specifically, on June 19-20, this area will have hot weather, some places will have extremely hot weather, the highest temperature will be 35-37 degrees, some places will be over 37 degrees. The lowest relative humidity is commonly 55-60%.
For the remaining areas across the country, in the evening and at night there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms; in the Central Highlands and the South, the southwest monsoon is active, so in the evening and at night there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain; sunny during the day.
The Meteorological Agency warns that areas with thunderstorms may experience tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
