On May 2, Ninh Binh Department of Tourism coordinated with other units to organize the opening of Ninh Binh Traditional Craft Village Space. This is one of the events under the program "Heritage for Life" organized for the first time to allow tourists to make traditional products by themselves.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, said that the establishment of traditional craft villages in the tourist area aims to honor, preserve and exploit the heritage values, the cultural quintessence of traditional crafts to create unique cultural tourism products, while contributing practically to promoting the restoration and development of traditional crafts in the direction of combining tradition and modernity, between artistry and application, bringing traditional heritage together with contemporary life, meeting the needs and tastes of people and tourists.
According to Mr. Manh, the traditional craft village space model will be operated as an experiential tourism product, operating on a non-profit principle.
In which, members, households, and artisans of craft villages participate voluntarily, self-consciously, self-managed, and contribute to the community, to the preservation and development of their ancestors' traditional crafts, and benefit from the results of their work and contributions through the sale and promotion of craft village products.

Products of traditional craft villages in Ninh Binh province such as Van Lam embroidery, Kim Son sedge weaving, Bo Bat pottery, silk... are oriented to develop in the direction of combining tradition and modernity, between artistry and practicality, bringing traditional heritage together with contemporary life, meeting the needs and tastes of people and tourists.
