Aiming for exploratory and re-energizing experiences, whether domestic or international trips, is one of the highlights that many Vietnamese tourists choose for this summer vacation.

According to research from Booking.com's Travel Predictions 2024, up to 46% of Vietnamese travelers are planning a long-term trip to domestic destinations, and 35% want to take an international trip lasting 5 nights or more this year.

With domestic tourism, tourists have the need to find nature and experience culture. Majestic mountains and forests are always the ideal choice for any tourist in Vietnam who wants to find a place to escape the hot summer sun.

This is reflected in the data that 57% of Vietnamese tourists said they are planning a trip to nature this year, followed by cultural tourism experiences (48%), beach tourism (45%) and sightseeing in big cities (36%).

Accordingly, the top 10 most searched domestic tourist destinations this summer include: Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Hoi An, Hanoi , Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Ha Long, Quy Nhon.

While domestic tourism continues to be popular, international destinations in Asia and beyond are also of interest to Vietnamese tourists this year. Topping the search list is Bangkok (Thailand). Its favorable geographical location, cultural diversity and unique cuisine have made this city the most searched international destination this summer. Other countries in Asia such as Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul and Kuala Lumpur are also on the list of favorite summer destinations for Vietnamese tourists.
