Nutrition plays a pivotal role in the health and development of a nation.

According to the National Nutrition Strategy 2020-2030, Vietnam aims to ensure that all people have equitable access to nutrition and food.

However, results from the Southeast Asia Nutrition Survey (SEANUTS II), a study conducted by FrieslandCampina in collaboration with the National Institute of Nutrition, showed that malnutrition remains the biggest challenge for Vietnamese children.

Healthy nutrition requires balance, reasonableness and variety of foods to meet the body's daily needs according to age, gender and physiological condition.

Nutritional imbalance occurs when there is an inadequate supply, or an excessive demand, of nutrients in the diet, especially a deficiency of micronutrients such as minerals and vitamins essential for health.

According to the SEANUTS II survey, in Vietnam, the rate of children (from 6 months to 12 years old) with low serum vitamin D was 30.4%; 60.8% of children had low serum zinc. The rate of children whose diets did not meet the recommended daily requirements for calcium, vitamins D, C, A and B12 was 81%, 95%, 69%, 68% and 37%, respectively.

An inadequate diet can lead to energy and micronutrient deficiencies in children, seriously affecting their physical, mental and intellectual development.

Children lack concentration and absorb and process information ineffectively, leading to poor academic performance and negatively impacting future potential.

This situation highlights the importance of implementing appropriate nutritional solutions to improve child health and development.

Faced with the above challenges, Dutch Lady's new and improved milk product line was developed based on scientifically proven nutritional needs, specifically for Vietnamese children.

With an optimized formula, the new Dutch Lady milk is more nutritious, providing children with essential micronutrients, including protein, calcium and vitamin D to support healthy body building, along with vitamin C to enhance immunity. This is a highlight, affirming Dutch Lady's pioneering position as one of the first brands to add vitamin C to fresh milk.

In addition, the product also has attractive packaging and delicious flavors, satisfying the desires of both children and parents.

Ms. Vo Thu Bao Ngoc, Deputy Marketing Director of FrieslandCampina Vietnam, shared: “Understanding the nutritional challenges that Vietnamese people and children are facing, and with the strong desire that “No child is left behind due to malnutrition,” the Dutch Lady brand is committed to providing Vietnamese children with the best nutritional products, helping them stay healthy to learn and develop every day, confidently conquering all challenges in life. We ensure to bring the delicious flavors that mothers and children love, along with an impressive new look and reasonable prices, helping Vietnamese mothers and children easily access this essential source of nutrition.”

In the National Nutrition Strategy, the Government of Vietnam has identified key targets and measures to address urgent nutrition challenges.

FrieslandCampina Vietnam and the Dutch Lady brand are always committed to actively contributing to help people, especially children, have access to better nutrition, contributing to this common cause in Vietnam.

“To make a real impact, we need to strengthen public-private partnerships to expand nutritioneducation and improve access to and supply of quality nutrition products,” said Russell Lipchin, General Director of FrieslandCampina Vietnam. “The company is actively collaborating with departments and organizations to promote nutrition education, not only helping each individual develop a reasonable diet but also forming healthy nutrition habits for life .
