Maintain good safety assurance system at traffic projects during Lunar New Year

The Ministry of Transport requires participating entities to maintain a good safety assurance system at traffic construction sites and consider the responsibility of the head if an incident occurs at the project during the 2025 Lunar New Year.

The Ministry of Transport has just issued a document requesting the Departments, Departments, Departments of Transport of localities and the Corporations: Vietnam Expressway Development Investment and Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to ensure traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival season of At Ty in 2025 for investment projects in construction of traffic works.

In addition to management units, the Ministry of Transport also requires vehicle owners and drivers working on construction projects to strictly comply with regulations on traffic safety, load capacity, and traffic safety during Tet (Illustration photo).

Accordingly, the Ministry of Transport requires relevant units to urgently complete construction items to the technical stopping point, clean up the entire construction site; and concentrate construction equipment in the right place.

"Units need to manage and maintain the safety assurance system at construction sites (markers, construction signs, traffic signs, traffic lights, traffic warning systems, etc.) and promptly review and fully supplement the traffic safety assurance system at locations where it is lacking," the document stated.

For key projects in the transport sector and projects to renovate, upgrade and expand roads in operation during the holidays and Tet, the Ministry of Transport requires the completion of construction on each route section, the arrangement of adequate barriers, traffic safety systems, traffic regulators, labor safety, environmental sanitation... to limit the impact on the travel and daily life of people in the project area.

"Units must closely coordinate with the Traffic Police, Traffic Inspectorate and relevant agencies, specifically announce the hotline phone numbers of officers on duty at the scene to promptly respond to and resolve unsafe situations and traffic jams on the route, ensuring absolute safety for vehicles in circulation.

Vehicle owners and drivers of construction projects must strictly comply with regulations on traffic safety and load capacity when supplying construction materials for construction projects," the Ministry of Transport directed.

"If there is a work accident, fire or explosion, or failure to ensure traffic safety... within the project due to failure to comply with safety requirements, the heads of the project participants must be responsible before the Minister of Transport and the law," the Ministry of Transport further emphasized.
