According to US media, Musk and a group of technology investors are contributing to Super PAC - a special fund that can spend unlimited money on candidates.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Musk plans to contribute $45 million per month to America PAC, a fund focused on electing Trump, starting in July.
Although Musk said months ago that he would not donate to Trump or President Joe Biden, recent posts on the X platform have revealed his political leanings. Shortly after the attempted assassination of Trump over the weekend, Musk declared his full support for Trump.
Joining Musk are other tech figures, largely white and male, motivated by various interests, including promoting cryptocurrencies and opposing regulators appointed by Mr. Biden.
Last month, several prominent tech figures attended a fundraiser for Trump organized by David Sacks. Sacks, a founding member of PayPal, has become a representative of the right wing in Silicon Valley. Sacks spoke at the Republican National Convention, which formally nominated Trump as the party’s nominee.
Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, was once a leading conservative and closely aligned with Mr. Trump when he entered the White House. After the 2021 attack on the Capitol, Thiel said he would retire from politics but made a significant contribution to the campaign of Senator JD Vance, Mr. Trump’s vice-presidential pick.
Chamath Palihapitiya, former Facebook CEO and co-host of the podcast All-In, also attended the Trump fundraiser. Palihapitiya has been a supporter of SPACs, a controversial way for companies to go public without regulatory oversight.
On Tuesday, The Information reported that Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, who run one of Silicon Valley’s most prominent venture capital firms, also backed Mr. Trump. Their firm has invested heavily in cryptocurrencies and has created a political fund to counter lawmakers who want to regulate the industry more tightly.
Cryptocurrency billionaires Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss are also Trump donors and attended a fundraiser for the former US President in June.
Top executives from Palantir, a data analytics company co-founded by Thiel, are also contributing to a Super PAC supporting Mr. Trump.
